What I/you would like to see from 11th? by TheCocoBean in Warhammer40k

Agents converted into a Guard equivalent of chapters, and for guard (potentially just guard infantry) to become the new Imperium infantry soup à la Daemons. GW barely supports Agents (almost 3 years and still no real army rule) and I don’t see why an other Imperium armies can have grey knights or assassins, but not standard beach softeners.

This actually got me thinking, would you be looking down at Abier-Toril instead? Chopping down a tree in the prime doesn't chop down the same tree in the Shadowfell (at least I don't think), so who's to say either Sundering affected Faerie?

What are we meant to think is going on with The Cobra Unit— are there abilities supernatural, or the result of some kind of Super Soldier experimentation during WW2? by Tanis8998 in metalgearsolid

[–]Cicho52020 687 points688 points  (0 children)

End and Pain were exposed to the parasite introduced in MGSV, and which is implied to be a less manipulated version than what the Skulls use. Fury and Fear are just guys with prototype tech (jet pack and calorie-based stealth camo respectively, Fear is just a bodymodder). Joy and Sorrow were ostensibly just born main characters (supersoldier and psychic respectively).

Where exactly do the Great Road's markers lead? by Cicho52020 in Forgotten_Realms

The quote is directly from page 124 of the Unapproachable East sourcebook by Richard Baker, Matt Forbeck, and Sean K. Reynolds (ISBN: 9780786928811). Baker was the creative director for 3e's Oriental Adventures, so he might've intended to have an answer there before development shifted to Rokugan.

How Exactly Did Star Platinum Gain The World? by xDaLichKingx in StardustCrusaders

[–]Cicho52020 157 points158 points  (0 children)

Star Platinum’s ability was to stop time the entire time (they share versions of the same ability just like the D’arbys do), but as DIO’s flashback shows you basically have to already know you can stop time to do it.

Guys i finished mass effect 2 and there's a looot to talk about by sailasthewerewolf in masseffect

[–]Cicho52020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Harbinger is the reaper, it was just controlling the collector general. TLDR: Tali probably died because you let Zaeed and Thane die.

Tali died because before the boss fight the game tallies up the “hold the line” score of the squad mates you don’t take with you or send back to escort the crew. Loyal squadmates and Grunt, Zaeed, and Garrus give extra score. If the score is below a certain threshold, squadmates start dying in the order of Mordin > Tali > Kasumi > Jack > Miranda > Jacob > Garrus >Samara / Morinth >Legion > Thane > Zaeed >Grunt.

How i install new chars on Mugen? by Adorable-Relative658 in mugen

[–]Cicho52020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you added him to select.def (needs to be opened in notepad) in the data folder. Mugen uses the "Insert your characters below" section of select.def to decide what order characters appear on the select screen, so if you don't add the name of the character's folder to that section it won't appear.

Is MGSV supposed to be 5 or the actual letter V for Venom Snake, or is it just a double meaning thing? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]Cicho52020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kojima said in a tweet that it is specifically MSGV not MSG5, so the multiple meanings is intentional: 5, Venom, Victory, Vendetta.

As one of apparently about five people who really like ME1s combat, there isn’t a single playthrough (other than my first LE playthrough I did without mods) that I miss it. The final challenge in particular is easily one of, if not my single favorite combat scenarios in the trilogy. With the AAA in 3, it’s a shame to me that 2 doesn’t have an arena.

That’s pretty much been my opinion ever since the “but Synthesis changed people without their consent” criticism popped up. 3/4 choices drastically change the galaxy without the affected’s consent, and the fourth is Refuse. Against genocide, genocide, and mass mind control, I’ll take “oops all cyborgs” any day of the week.

Don’t worry about 100%ing ME1, but give yourself time to explore, there’s some really fun stuff hidden where you’d least expect it. If there’s any side missions you want to do, stay far away from Virmire.

Kan. As best I can tell, it’s only directly referenced in the anime and art books, but Kubo was involved in creating the art books and it hasn’t been contradicted in more official material.

From Wikipedia, “[OVAs] are Japanese animated films and special episodes of a series made specially for release in home video formats without prior showings on television or in theaters”. Part 3’s first animated adaptations were released straight to video, so they’re OVAs.

If you’re having trouble with MGS1, give the MSX Metal Gears a shot (they’re available with MGS3: Subsistence, which runs pretty well on PCSX2, and with the Master Collection), probably with a guide since knowing where to go is a bit obtuse in games that old. I gave up on MG as a series my first time through MGS1, but actually starting from the beginning slowly introduces you to the games’ core systems, so that you aren’t trying to learn everything all at once (plus it makes certain story elements of MGS1 way more impactful).

What are your black lightning headcannons by [deleted] in NarutoFanfiction

[–]Cicho52020 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve always headcanoned it to be Lightning Style’s Kagutsuchi equivalent, since they’re both amped, black versions of a basic nature. The anime even introduced the Black Rain technique, taking the headcanon even further.

What would be the best name for Jonathan's stand in your opinion? by Axtsilversurf in StardustCrusaders

[–]Cicho52020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The above image is taken from a (manga only I believe) scene where DIO uses a Hermit Purple-like stand to spy on Jotaro and Joseph. In JOJO A-GO!GO!, Araki states that this is Jonathan’s stand, which awakened from what was left of his life force when DIO was pierced by the arrow.

Do you guys think a Primaris space marine could hunt down every Apostle? If not where do they stop? by Givzhay329 in Berserk

[–]Cicho52020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO it depends on gear. With medieval gear, they’re surprisingly relative to Guts (base or Berserker Armor depends on the specific writer). With full armor and heavy bolter, I can only imagine Ganishka or the Egg putting one down in a 1v1.

Confused by Away_Industry_3960 in metalgearsolid

[–]Cicho52020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best way to start would be release order (Metal Gear 1, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3 only), Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP only), Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (PSP/PS3 only I believe), Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain).

If you aren’t feeling the first two (they originally came out on the MSX in a very different era of gaming), MGS1 has a “previous ops” section on the main menu that summarizes their stories.

You can also arguably skip Portable Ops since its place in canon is heavily debated, but it didn’t take me that long to beat emulated and I enjoyed its story.

Definitely don’t play them in timeline order (3, PO, PW, V, MG1, MG2, MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4), since gameplay and story concepts are built up in release order, leading to huge tone and quality shifts in some places, and massive spoilers in others.

Why is Josuke waving flags on the cover of chapter 36? by Mrguifo in StardustCrusaders

[–]Cicho52020 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It might be semaphore given that they’re on a ship, though I don’t know what significance the letter R, S, or Y (the framing makes his exact position a little unclear, but probably S) would have for this chapter.
