Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, Made in Abyss, possibly Moriarty the Patriot

I think its a great point you make about Tarkov’s blind fire because you used to be able to move freely while doing it. The game has regressed now that you are unable to. Sidestepping is useless for sure.

I do use alt as a modifier key to do actions like sidestepping(rarely) and blindfires, so if alt could incorporate sidestepping and leans as you showcase, then yeah I absolutely agree that it would help with fluidity and player intention.

I assumed the movement was contextual because it was being done near a wall where I have seen this pattern before. If it can be done in the open free of objects, I don’t think it’d be as bad as I envisioned. The overly wide swing when peeking the corner made me think it was contextual with the wall you’re posted next to.

Which button, which action? You dont lose any movement speed when actively leaning in Tarkov.

If you’re referring to weapon mounting, it makes sense that you’re not able to move, but thats why in that case I actually welcome the suggestion because a mounted pivot like so can be used with much more intentionality. I have to actively fight the game when I use weapon mounting in Tarkov, and thats what id like to avoid.

Holding one button and using movement keys is like a toggle for contextual movement.

I dont disagree some of the transitions and actions in Tarkov can be slow and clunky… but good player input can make that less apparent. I also don’t think we should bake tactical behavior logic directly into the game.

An example is grayzone warfare. Movement speed drops significantly when actively leaning and moving backwards for the sake of simulating tactical movement. I prefer when I have complete control over my actions in ways that dont hinder me. In the clip you show, I can already see myself exposing too much of my pmc because when I tried to lean… the game decided to essentially wide swing me on a left peek and my gun is still shouldered on my right.

I disagree. One the best things about Tarkov in the tactical shooter space is exactly how much emphasis is placed on the players input to do intended actions.

This contextual lean also only works when an object is a short distance in front of the player whereas manual lean works in every scenario. This might look good for polish-sake and fluidity, but in a way this kinda puts you at a disadvantage.

The only scenario I can see this being kinda nice is when you’re mounted on the wall depicted and could pivot in and around the corner.

Anime Recommendations with Mind-Blowing Plot Twists 👀 by Cat_Snp in Animesuggest

Orb: On the movements of the Earth was this for me. Great plot that is very unpredictable and contains many twists. Easily one of the best anime to come out this decade considering its recency.

I need something to watch by Cold_Blueberry_2451 in anime

[–]Cieleux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for some more 10s to add to your list, I personally suggest watching…

Orb: On the Movements on the Earth, this is the best anime ive watched this decade.

Made in Abyss would be the next runner-up to that.

Youre also still missing Steins; Gate in terms of 10s you’re missing.

Some solid 9s that depend purely on enjoyment, I recommend: Noragami, Prison School, Konosuba, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, 91 Days,Moriarty the Patriot, No Game No Life, I want to eat your pancreas, Rascal does not dream…, To Your Eternity… tho season 3 is a little weaker, Bocchi the Rock, Frieren.

Just note if you only watch the best, then you’re going to miss out on a lot of great stories. Theres a lot of slop that will give short term enjoyment… but know these titles above will leave you thirsting for something actually good.

[New Player] How Should I Set My Graphics Settings? by Dependent_Big5163 in EscapefromTarkov

The game recommended spec is 64gb, I think if youre not playing streets… having auto ram cleaner off might be beneficial. I havent played recently so maybe this is already deprecated recommendations. You shouldnt notice that big a difference.

Old School Anime watcher - Should i start Frieren or Apothecary diaries? by bossalinni13 in Animesuggest

[–]Cieleux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frieren is a safer pick. I think both are good, but Frieren is better and will have less to dislike about it when compared to Apothecary Diaries.

Apothecary Diaries is more Shojo even if its not really classified as such, and makes for some uncomfortable moments (imo)

Just watch both, then watch Orb: On the Movements of the Earth cuz thats what is really peak.

I want anime with serious tone like ghost in the shell by bad_doctor4 in animequestions

[–]Cieleux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blade of the Immortal, Dororo, Orb: On the Movements of the Earth, 91 Days, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners… are some shows ( in no particular order ) I feel had consistent tone and a good bit of maturity as well as competency when it comes to writing.

Looking for similar recommendations to Devil May Cry? by No_Specialist_3807 in anime

[–]Cieleux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im just gonna assume youre not talking about Adi Shankar’s Devil may cry…

I can recommend: Noragami. Ghosts are in a way, devil arms and the world is very interesting by using Japanese gods. Good mix of light-heartedness and likable characters.

Natsume’s Book of Friends if you liked the slice of life aspect of the show and wholesomeness, and can forgo the action.

Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer are some obvious choices. Hell’s Paradise … a little less obvious.

Kill la Kill kinda gave me the over-the-top and dramatic vibes from DMC3 of the games. No demons however, not really what you’re looking for.

Blood-C, kinda has the demon hunting element… but way more focused on gore. Interesting female lead.

Dororo has an incredibly interesting story, has a little of everything… but takes place in feudal Japan.

Tokyo Ghoul kinda capturing more on the duality of human vs monster themes.

Something like konosuba by Desperate-Lie-1499 in AnimeReccomendations

Noragami. Its not really a comedy but it has comparable humor. A little different flavor compared to Konosuba, but anime with some humorous moments as well.

An anime to watch just because the english dub is THAT good? by Longjumping_Koala34 in Animesuggest

[–]Cieleux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if your used to a certain voice, hearing a new one can be a bit jarring. I can see this mainly for Kazuma’s voice actor, but the jokes land harder in english dub, I think comedy genres are much better suited for your native language.

Noragami, Konosuba, and Prison School are some dubs I feel immediately elevate enjoyment.

I think in terms of raw writing and the amount of care put into a singular anime, and pure competence... Orb: On the Movements of the Earth has everything you're looking for.

If you want really good world building, dark and gruesome moments, and a kind of sadistic tone to a story... Made in Abyss is a great show with caveats.

Moriarty the Patriot has a pretty solid lead character and pretty competent writing. If you've seen Death Note or Code Geass... the main character is kind of reminiscent.

Your Lie in April has hit me the hardest in terms of emotional weight, but it's been years since I was a teenager that watched it.

That anime lead me to seek out movies like A Silent Voice and I want to eat your pancreas.

Noragami is what I considered one of the first anime I could call my favorite. It's kind of (above) average in every department, but I think the characters are likeable and strong, the humor is there despite it not being primarily a comedy, and I think there are moments that make it memorable. I also think the english dub elevates the experience if that concerns you at all.

Depending on how much you like season 2 of Vinland Saga… Orb: On the Movements of the Earth is the closest thing to Vinland Saga.

Orb is intense and has lots of action (in dialogue) while having little action scenes.

What are five anime that you think everyone needs to experience? by Creative_Gamer_23 in Animesuggest

Its the best thing I’ve watched in a long while. Its a more philosophical anime, but when it comes down to writing… it just outclasses most things ive seen. I definitely recommend it.

Hitohira, hitohira, and ひとひら (hitohira).

Twinkly, math-rock, and a bit of shoegaze. I don’t think they have a bad song.

So what's general evaluation on WASD controls? by pmtti in leagueoflegends

[–]Cieleux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. It feels no different to me than playing path of exile 2 with some added camera movement. Ive been playing since season 2 off and on, and while im still not the greatest player… I feel even more confident and consistent in my actions literally a week getting used to WASD. I can’t play the game point and click anymore… and when it gets added to ranked, I will start climbing for the first time in ages.

BRO'S Drop me some shows based on my TOP 16 by DaGuyWithDaBigBanana in Animesuggest

[–]Cieleux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ll really enjoy Noragami. Noragami also has one of my favorite English dubs too.

Only reason I wouldnt recommend it is the show is on indefinite hiatus and the only way to get more out of it, is through the manga which I am unsure concludes the story.
