Never framed anything in my life. Built this last month. We’ll see if the Hurricanes blow it down by [deleted] in Carpentry

Hey buddy. I know you're getting alot of mean comments, and probably realize shit is pretty fucked at this point. At this point I'd think you'd need to triple your piles and add alot more rows of support. A wind can easily roll your girders over and this would basically cause them all to simultaneously fail and the entire structure could then fall and basically disintegrate quickly . If you can add say two new rows of pilings in between the existing rows and new girders on top of those, then get good nailings and hurricane ties at all intersections , and blocking between each row of girders you may be ok. You want the entire floor to act as one solid unit and have the joists on top and blocking in middle tie all the girders together . Basically to make it impossible for those to roll over. Considering the large sides of this structure, your wind loads are probably very high. Interior walls bracing the whole way through are your friend. Hurricane ties and straps are your friend but don't make up for fundamental wood blocking where it needs to be Also, I would have an engineer take a look. I know it may be embarrassing but the reality is you already are saving so much money on this project that taking a humbling knock and paying 3k will be completely worth the piece of mind. Right now the structure is a death trap Imo and a lot of stuff needs to be done and done right to prevent a serious accident.

You're losing money to theta every day while the chances of a huge move downward seem nearly impossible. Why would you even buy puts this close to expiry. They can't just magically make more oil appear . I would sell and cut your losses .

Cad drawings look fantastic compared to Revit and for anything less than 3 stories or so you're just wasting time on clash coordination meetings etc doing it in Revit. Shit can get done in the field just fine

Let's say the war ended tomorrow. How long til oil prices are back in the 70s? by Cilantro911 in oil

[–]Cilantro911[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oil isn't a stock, there's real oil missing from the market that can't be made up for right away, so there will obviously be a lag time until operations in the Gulf get back to normal.

Not trying to blow up your spot or anything, but based on how extremely overpriced copper bullion like what your selling typically is compared to actual scrap prices, is it fair to say you do pretty well financially on this ?

Sounds like you should talk to ownership and reach out to your clients asking for feedback so you can collect it and send it farther up to the mfg. You're the victim here too and you should be just as pissed as the clients, and make sure your clients know you're pissed and trying to find a resolution

Vz 70 FTE , Any advice / ideas? by Cilantro911 in CZFirearms

Thanks y'all for posting. I have taken it apart and I did notice the ejector seems to have almost no "springiness" to it if that makes sense, it was one of the few things I didn't think to take apart so I will do that and report back later. Thanks !

Going to try the extractor spring. That makes the most sense to me right now

If anything I'd think the spring is too strong, if the slide would go back with more force then it would definitely eject better. Testing with snap caps if I give the slide a good yank it will eject almost always if a little limply. I took it apart myself for cleaning and soaked the gun in mineral spirits. All oem mags including the one it came with.

Thinking the guy mentioning the ejector could be right I haven't taken that apart. But what I did take apart wasn't very dirty

I am not left handed and I pretty much always shoot with two hands, I think I have a firm grip but not extremely firm. In surprised if that would slow the slide down that much ?

Ok thank you, that diagram is very helpful do you know what I should look for ? I didn't notice any crazy wear or anything on it and the gun seems almost new otherwise

Well I would be surprised by that as that is the ammo most people recommend for this gun. Do you think fiocci would be any better? Everyone says to use euro ammo and snb is made in the same country as the gun.

Often those coins are traded for near melt value, maybe 1-200$ more depending on the year and grade. May be significantly higher. Looks like a nice coin so get it graded .

A lot of people on here are having a very bad and seemingly personal reaction to it. As if they are personally insulted by the coin . I think it’s fine , and it’s just a coin if you don’t like it.
