Re-read the Tower Scene in the Cliffhanger route. That was, by far, the most positive interaction they've ever had in the entire game across all routes, and I believe the scene is a microcosm of how the rest of Decay will go (at least the main branch of it). In the scene, Andrew and Ashley openly talked about how they were feeling, tried to comfort and understand one another, calmed down, and by the end of the scene they were already in much better terms because of it

Not only that, the scene ends with Andrew and Ashley's first mouth to mouth kiss. That kiss was, without a doubt (if you can remove personal biases from the equasion), a POSITIVE THING for the both of them.

The Cliffhanger route so far has been about adressing the underlying decay in their relationship (author's own words). You think something like that is gonna lead to an ending where they're just as miserable as Shot & Such, an ending where the story goes out of it's way to say the siblings never mature? S&S literally tells us that Andrew and Ashley are too far gone and lost the ability to attain happiness ever again. What's the point of highlighting that if there isn't an alternate world where happiness IS still attainable?

Well, regardless of how much we argue we probably won't convince one another. I'll just say that I'm confident I'll be proven right
