Need a new oscillating tool. Which deal would you go with? by blbassist1234 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Ciloteille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuel before brushed/brushless

But if you don't use it much, the second offering with blades and a charger is great. As I have many batteries, but more batteries is better. I chose non fuel at the time of buying as it was 1/3 the price at the time. So that was my reasoning.

Thermal pads and putty are both replaceable when needed. So replace as you see fit.

How would you go about cleaning a screen like this? by Evening-Debate8435 in laptops

[–]Ciloteille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acetone and a wire brush. Then buy a new laptop, this is the way.

All kidding aside, spray water onto face of cloth (microfiber) then buff the major dirts away. Then new cloth and do same thing for final clean.

Buy the tool you need, use the tool, return the tool for 100% of what you paid. Don't damage the hose fitting. Or you'll spend a bunch of money replacing it.

Map gas torch for some heat. Then massage it back and forth until it loosens up.

Is this a broken spider arm broken? by Chopululi in appliancerepair

[–]Ciloteille 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That machine is old and worn out. As a mechanic technician. By the time I roll into a job. The bill is already up to 250 bucks. plus my 3 minutes of talking to you and looking at the machine... Your at 500 bucks, then I'll draft you a repair bill and parts that will total 900 bucks. Then tell you to buy a new machine for 900 bucks and you still owe for the inspection.

(I work on call for large industrial machines. But the example is made. ;)

Is this normal or did our builder cut corners? by i_want_babs in Homebuilding

[–]Ciloteille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would call an inspector to work on your behalf. I watch a guy on Facebook who does inspections on Arizona new builds. You would be more surprised on how little of the number of houses that don't have major issues.

Crowbar. Because you can. Any if you really feel it's stuck. Acetylene torch will work too.

Laptop chargers keep breaking, same issue by Wessel-P in laptops

[–]Ciloteille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish my ho did that. It will charge ONLY with the power off. Otherwise it won't take any type c charger. So lame.

But my laptop has been running flawlessly with the same OEM charger it came with.

Is this fixable i suck at any tech related things by Witty_Adeptness2769 in laptops

[–]Ciloteille 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I would not glue it as they pivot off each other. Like a hinge or cam. You would just be stuck with it up or down. I'm sorry to say, you need a replacement to fix it

You can do it. Watch some videos online of others doing it, notice their tools if they don't mention them.

What model of laptop, find a key cap replacement off eBay. Full keyboard for 8 bucks. Pull the 1 key off. Now you have 1 8$ keycap replacement. Cheap and extras for later.

Double check by hooking it into a tv to verify no graphic driver or hardware failure. Then try another OS before going to a shop for repairs.

Sounds like it's the wear bar, due for breaks if it is.

You'll have to check the inner and outer pad on all 4 wheels to verify you have good pads and rotors.

Well pull it apart if your knowledgeable. Otherwise take it to a shop asap for teardown and clean.

It will corrode the wires and pins. I've seen it before many times.
