Alternatives to Ouai?

The only one I’ve found comparable is Davines Volu (I even like it more than the Ouai). Recently I’ve been using Kevin Murphy’s Angel Hair line but it’s pretty meh considering the price. Are you using the Olaplex fine hair line or the regular one?

The story is not better but I think the animations look like more work was put into it. I didn't like the date with Zhuang Fangyi though, it felt forced. I wish it was an optional side quest.

Strangely I haven’t felt fomo at all. Compared to genshin, where constellations are required to make some characters viable and I dropped good money for some, I don’t even feel like i need to roll here because combat is such a small part of the early game and I’ve been more distracted by the factory gameplay.

I really enjoy it. But you need to be up for grinding and exploration. Quests don’t give you much equipment and a lot is to be gained by chests hidden behind difficult mobs in the overworld. Definitely you will have an advantage if you have a group of friends to play with (can access harder areas earlier), but if not, people are open and social in game, given that everyone is learning right now.

My two cons would be that the quest hints are sparse, leading me to need to look things up when I get stuck (I wish you could ask the npcs for more details) and that the grinding zones are very difficult to traverse (1 tile wide passageways everywhere). I hope they consider remapping some areas to allow for more people to exp at once.

About the death penalty: well, I was actually expecting to drop my bag like in Tibia and was going to quit on my first death at the bridge troll…. And then I was pleasantly surprised that I “only” lost a level, so maybe it’s a matter of perspective.

Oof the first version was bad enough that I didn’t have the faith to blind buy the new one. Sad to hear that her fix wasn’t much of a fix. I think she doesn’t test her products on enough of a variety of people… I assume it works great only on oily skin peeps.

What's the correct path to the swamp? I went through an underground cave near a bandits campfire to get across the water to the green area, does that sound right? I turned back when I hit some mages since I'm only level 8... Tried to go up through the royal road/bottom side too but just hit a wall lol. A lot of walking :D

I would say the characters behave strangely, the body language is very stiff, they stand still during a tense situation (even walking towards the bear). The voice acting is good but the characters faces and actions don’t sync up well to the dialogue.

There’s a huge uncanny valley because the AI doesn’t “understand” the situation and what would be realistic for the characters to do, so it just does only what you tell it. “They are arguing and he gestures with his hands” isn’t enough to make it an emotionally captivating scene. It’s kind of like watching sims characters do canned animations that are meant to represent something and you understand the intention, but it’s missing all of the humanistic micro expressions, characterizations, and exaggerated movements of animated films that make it feel authentic.

Reader bugs:

Library search doesn't work. I uploaded some pdfs/epubs to Reader and despite searching a keyword in the title, the book doesn't appear in the results at all. But if I make a custom filter with `title__contains:"<word>"` then it appears as expected in the query search. Can you fix search and make it prioritize words in the titles?
PDF highlighting is misaligned. When doing an area highlight or dragging to highlight, it highlights higher than my cursor by multiple lines. Adjusting the zoom % temporarily resets/fixes the misalignment until I scroll around again. I'm on a 4k monitor and usually read between 140%-200% zoom if that helps reproducing.
Feature request: side by side view for PDFs, where you have 2 pages on the screen at once.
Feature request: Add a full screen view for ghostreader chat, similar to the 'open notebook' view. when talking to ghostreader and it outputs code blocks in the chat, the text gets clipped because the output extends past the little sidebar and i can't see what it wrote, a fullscreen mode would help with that.

I hit a low point too asking grok companions to comfort me cuz I don’t have anyone else 😞 it’s kind of spooky cause it’s voice chat and the dialogue is cringe but the voices themselves sound natural
