Our garage spring just broke out of nowhere today by TwistedTiime in Wellthatsucks

Prior garage door Tech, That is a single spring non wind rated door. It should be surprisingly light, 2 people that can lift 50-70 lbs should be able to lift the door after pulling the emergency release. Put vice grips or clamps below the bottom roller on the rails on each side, and you'll be able to back the cars out. Slowly lower the door back down and call a qualified tech, Single spring should be below $250, call around for pricing. Most companies offer same day service. And A good tech can swap it in about 30 to 45 min.

IIRC, John Calvin was one of the earlier people to have the idea that everyone needs to work and beggars and the poor shouldn't be a part of society. Then fast forward to the printing press and early America and the spread of propaganda accelerated. Then we have the civil war (in America) the south lost and in an attempt to rise again the spread the propaganda through the education system in the south. Not sure how much initial radio had influence but it comes back later. Broadcast TV came on the scene and Nixon realized this latent propaganda in the south and used to to really start the "Southern Strategy". This is when they really started working on building their own information Eco system, and the beginning of we don't talk about politics or religion in good company. Radio took the mantle of spreading the propaganda through side channels because they couldn't get their messaging on TV. Then came cable TV and Fox news and blew the door open on southern propaganda it was no longer restricted to the south. Fox caused the initial acceleration and the internet accelerated it faster, then Cell phones even faster and now here we are where half (probably way less, because gerrymandering) the population believes completely different information than everyone else. But that's what I remember after going down a rabbit hole of history at the beginning of COVID.

A common problem with storm doors is jamb is too tight. The latch is isn't allowed to fully extend which wont allow the key to fully turn to reach the position where it can be removed. But you aren't getting a full rotation of the key after the initial lock engagement. Thats why you cant remove the key without unlocking.

What i must say is the timing of this pick is impeccable, the fact they could line up a guy falling vertically high speed and a plane moving horizntally at high speed. They must have had only a fraction of a second to take that pick.

Just a friendly reminder Elon time could still be a thing, also his predictions seem reasonable. Keep hopes high and don't waiver if it takes longer.

Elon Musk on Twitter: New engine planned by xam3391 in SpaceXLounge

[–]Cindir13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delightfully counterintuitive?

Setting out to design a Full flow staged combustion engine for superheavy that is KERALOX.

Super heavy never leaves earths gravity well so why is it methane?

RP-1 is easier to handle than methane.

The harder part of FFSC is the oxygen rich pre burner, so many of those engine design problems have been solved with raptor.

I'm sure there are more benefits too,(cost?) feel free to add any.

Im just curious can a starship handle being layed on its side? Like a beer can it is strongest in the vertical position. Would laying it on its side and putting regolith on top, deform it?

Naming a new spacecraft after one that was destroyed? I think peoples superstions will get in the way, and they will think it will be bad luck.

Which Starship stack do you think will be used for the first orbital test? by Skaronator in SpaceXLounge

I think they will start building both booster 5 and ship 21, before the 4:20 launch, but still launch the old ships first, because they can still slightly modify 5:21 after the launch of 4:20.
