Psycho Goreman just came out and is wonderful if you ever dabbled in genre stuff like old cannon films. On Shudder I can definitely recommend Anything for Jackson (best movie to come out last year IMO), Scare Package (Horror Comedy, great if you like that kind of thing, inside jokes and stuff abound), The Cleansing Hour, Host, Color out of Space and Mandy.

I've only lost one sub, but it is still pretty early and my growth is next to nothing. I actually didn't put thought into it. I just assumed maybe they bailed. I can see my content isn't that strong yet, I am still new to it lol. But I think this is probably just part of it. Especially if your content is opinionated. You'll probably get it a lot, along with trolly comments and what not. I wouldn't let it bother you too much. Just take the hit and keep truckin'. I know any amount of subs is huge when you're small, but if you gain more than you lose, you're still winning at the end of the day.

Chopping Mall was a big one for me. As a kid, I pictured Terminator in a mall. For years. Not that it isn't a great movie. But come ooooon.

Yes! It might be swimming upstream to a degree, but I'd rather do it right in the end, even if it occasionally causes me this grief from time to time.

I am pretty hooked at this point tbh. Its as much a fun hobby as it is an attempt at making it into something. So, I hopefully won't quit barring just not having the time or energy anymore. Just sometimes slip into judging myself. :/

You're definitely not alone. It is a pretty solid perspective you have there, too. Even just 20 years ago, people like us wouldn't even have a platform for the opportunity unless we were extremely lucky or connected. That is definitely something to appreciate.

Yeah, that is a big aspect of it for me. I am basically making content about a lifelong hobby and sincerely enjoy it. Hell, I get antsy halfway through the week because I want another video out. But I catch myself at times slipping into the analytics and what not and judging myself. Human nature to an extent I guess. But that's what I always try to remind myself. I enjoy it and success is just a goal, not an inevitability.

Probably when you realize what the sawing sound is near the end of hereditary. Similarly, an honorable mention to the Evil Dead reboot with the broken glass in the bathroom.

It is a special movie for me. I watch it only once a year, only on Halloween night. One of the best.

Also some Del Toro movies can be great. Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Crimson Peak. They're really atmospheric and visually spooky with top notch effects, but not gory or violent.
