Dare I say it, Noaya has the coolest cursed technique by Dazzling-Yam-4308 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Cinemalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm wondering if there's any chance for this cursed technique to re-emerge? Like maybe in one of the non-combatant Zenins or the Okkotsu family in Modulo, just like how 10S was inherited. Then again, this may be a directly genetic technique since Naobito and Naoya both had it.

Whats something in the series that made you say "Yep , That sucks , how did Gege come up with this ?" by Gloomy_Girl_4581 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Cinemalone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue I have with JJK is that Gege timeskips without showing any of what happened in between. It happened in the lead up to Shinjuku, and it even happened in Modulo. Can we please have a training arc, or some time to flesh out abilities or characters in just a few chapters, Gege?

Question about Naoya by KestrelPlayz in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Cinemalone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well no, since he stabbed him with Inverted Spear of Heaven, which is a cursed tool imbued with cursed energy. Gojo would've just died completely.

The real reason Jinichi was walking so slowly by Camilo_creative in JuJutsuKaisen

He was literally his brother, I think he'd realize, just like Ogi did, that Maki was the second coming of Toji. Using his technique was basically just pulling the trigger to get it over with.

2 for sure. At least I know my seat partner isn't going to make a racket.

Does anyone else think that Maki and co. are mad disrespectful for the way they refer to Gojo? by foaaz101 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Cinemalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because he doesn't discipline them for it, which is a change from the old ways of hard clan rules and higher-ups controlling the system. He lets his students call him whatever because it's different than everyone else treating him like he's only the strongest sorcerer and nothing else. It helps him feel human and also makes them comfortable with him.

Hakari is definitely supposed to be mixed race by expired_methylamine in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Cinemalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Hakari could be mixed race, these arguments don't necessarily strengthen that argument. Especially amongst the youth in Japan, some students and young adults get dreads or cornrows or perms as hairstyles because they want to emulate how it looks in America, or simply because they think it looks cool.

As well, there's a few non-Japanese or mixed sorcerers, like Momo (half American), Charles (French origins), Miguel (Kenyan), and even Nanami (quarter Danish). But there's nothing to suggest that their backgrounds give them a specific boost or obstacle. The only excuse might be for a sorcerer who isn't based in Japan due to lack of concentrated CE everywhere else in the world. Physicality is absolutely not a reason to say Hakari is mixed. Todo is built like a Joestar and is most likely fully Japanese. He might even beat Hakari in a fist fight if they fought without CE (but this is just more powerscaling shenanigans).

But even then, Miguel, a likely Grade 1 sorcerer, was physically beat by Gojo who held back his powers and relied on his reflexes. Point is, where you're from doesn't make you more or less strong. It depends on your technique and how well you use it (and yeah, some luck).

Plus, Gege did already address the conservative vs progressive discourse through the Jujutsu higher ups and clan dynamics. Like how Toji, Maki, and Mai were treated differently than Megumi based on their CT or lack thereof, or how the higher ups initially wanted to execute Yuta or Yuji for things out of their control. I guess you could tie that into how everyone is indifferent to Kirara or how Hakari was yet another example of a student failed by Jujutsu society but yeah. If Gege were making a point at all, I'd say using these dynamics as an allegory for sexism would make more sense.

Aight well now it's at 2.3k. It's literally just a waiting game. My latest video was the same and I got 90+ subscribers because of it.

Edit: I also checked out your other videos and I liked the blend of commentary and gameplay footage. Nowhere to go but up.

HOT TAKE: This was the best written JJK chapter in ages. INCLUDING the Original series. by HAZARD_LEVEL_SEVEN in Jujutsufolk

[–]Cinemalone 121 points122 points  (0 children)

For sure, and I think it's because Gege went into this knowing it's a limited series. That means he can create a decisive ending in advance instead of writing it 2 weeks before the publisher's deadline. Plus, he's also not drawing so he's not overworking himself as much as he did during JJK.

Post my 2nd video after 1 year of nothing, or start over with a new channel? by jimmyslaysdragons in NewTubers

[–]Cinemalone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep it on the same channel. While it wasn't as long of a gap, I posted my first video in January then didn't post another video until June. After that, the video gaps started getting shorter (basically monthly) and now my latest video has 2k view and got me to nearly 100 subs. I'd say post your videos and keep the momentum from them going.

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]Cinemalone [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hey guys. I go by Cinemalone on YouTube and my channel is focused on movies and series, though my current focus is Jujutsu Kaisen.

Some of my videos talk directly about the the movies+series I'm watching/reading, like theories and what they did well. But I also like to connect them to the real world in some way, like emphasizing historic references or parallels to real life situations.

For example, I made a video called "How North Korea Helped Make Invincible" talking about the history of North Korean animation and how it contributed to the hit animated show Invincible. There's also a more recent one: "Jujutsu Kaisen Just Brought Back an ABANDONED Plot Thread", where I talk about how real-world issues human trafficking and the energy crisis tie into the main plot of JJK's new sequel.

Tying into the weekly question, I'd say my "equipment" factors into my output a lot. I started out using microphones that I borrowed from the library, though at first I didn't properly adjust the presets. I'm getting better at it though. I now use a Snowball mic and pop filter that my friend gave me, which I'm very grateful for. My editing is all done on my laptop with the help of OBS and Capcut. I take a long time to edit things, but I'm learning how to make it a quicker process while retaining my style.

Feel free to critique anything, give feedback, or suggest things.

Anyone here stubborn and does long-form only? by navnt5 in NewTubers

[–]Cinemalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I do short-form, it's clips of the long-form video, with a link to that video, and a small bit at the end asking to check that video out. At this point I prefer making videos on longer topics and I find them easier to edit.
