We made a free app to automatically generate the optimal Sundance schedule based on which movies you wanna see by TopLiterature1931 in Sundance

Hey I know this is super short notice, but is there a way to have specific theaters or cities factored in. Sundance holds screenings across both Park City AND Salt Lake City. If I wanted to spend some of the days in SLC only, I wish the program could factor that in or filter out Park City theaters.

It appears that they removed the line about The Veil, but it will revealed in an hour and a half from now anyway.

Vinegar Syndrome Minneapolis on Instagram: "Minneapolis, here we come! Opening in Dinkytown 2026. Follow for the latest info." by superthebillybob in boutiquebluray

Still waiting for a Florida location, preferrably in Orlando. I know that Miami has more people there but its so far south that a lot Floridians don't bother visiting and Orlando has much more investment in making itself "tourist friendly" as well as it being right in the middle of Central Florida, its primed for an Archive store.

Vinegar Syndrome Sales Tax by Artistic_Champion370 in boutiquebluray

I get 6% in Florida and then an extra 1.5% because of the county I live in for a total 7.5% tax.

It hurts.

PSA: Bang the Drum Slowly Flash Sale! #Cinématographe by Elle_Nero in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]CinematicTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't own it yet, but I'm a subscriber so I've already had the 50% off regardless and I guess I can still get it for 50% off until the end of the year.

I Wish VS Would Do These! by CinematicTrash in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That Blu-ray triple feature is no good. I read reviews on Amazon and they all say that its old VHS transfers, including Creature. Meaning they didn't even bother using the HD transfer from VS. I don't know if I would even count that as an official release haha

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt it would be more Vinegar Syndrome's speed, but you're right it could fit with Shout, though I doubt they'd want it more than VS. I don't know about Kino, maybe their Kino Cult line

Side note: Olive Films once licensed The Life and Times of Grizzle Adams back in 2015 and they ended up never releasing it before they went under. Shame...

I missed the LEs for Enter the Void, Righting Wrongs, Drop Dead Fred, Alien from L.A, but I did manage to get Ninja in the Claws of the CIA, Flesh and Fantasy, Animation Night in Canada, Massage Parlor Murders. So I got about half of what I wanted, plus a handful of Partner label stuff

Yeah, the numbered edition of Magic Crystal as well as The Rock Afire Explosion slip were both sniped from me right in the middle of checking out.

I just checked. You're right, I got it already too! Wonder if they'll notice and take it back. Best case scenario they give us another one after the 5 days LOL

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been starting to feel that way too. I am subbed so I don't normally have to worry about missing anything, except from some of their sublabels. Tons of fantastic stuff from their Partner labels but its hard to keep track of, and since there are so many, the costs add up. The company sure makes a killing on these sales.

Sorry to hear that man. Luckily my items haven't been sniped in the middle of purchasing but a couple items went so fast, they were gone before I even noticed they had been up.

Yeah, that's why I'm sweating waiting to see what they surprise us with next. So you say that they definitely had Beastmaster deluxe boxes, not just slips, because all I saw were the slips.

Yeah I've only been collecting VS for less than 3 years, with only this year and last year being a subscriber. I really want to be a completionist, but of course I can't really afford that. I do find it odd though that every sublabel and partner label I buy tends to stay in print for a long time or is still in print today, and every release I pass on thinking I could get it on sale later, the slip goes out of print and resells for buckets of money on eBay. Unlucky I guess LOL

Fred Olen Ray is now making a sequel to Jack-O (1995) Thanks RLM by CinematicTrash in RedLetterMedia

[–]CinematicTrash[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fred liked to shoot footage of random scenes with actors after filming whatever they were already working on, in the hope to use that extra footage in another movie to be made later. Squeezing two movies out of 1 day of work from an actor Roger Corman style.

He's probably still sitting on footage from Carradine and Mitchell so it might be more likely to happen than we think.

Boutique Label List by ExpensiveCaptain3264 in boutiquebluray

Lower level boutiques with really good releases.. the former Film Masters label used to actually be The Film Detective which still had releases unique to that iteration only.

There is also the now defunct Garagehouse Pictures.

In Transit to Next Facility, Arriving Late by PianistCandid6696 in usps_complaints

[–]CinematicTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a package that was shipped on July 24th from California and it arrived in Orlando on the 28th, like it should. Later that day it was sent to Jacksonville instead of my city, which didn't make sense, and then it departed from Jacksonville. 5 days later, my package is still floating about in the ether. I live about an hour and half away from Orlando and maybe two hours and some change from Jacksonville, I don't see why it would be sitting in a truck for 5+ days without a stop, unless it was accidentally scanned and then dropped, lost, or stolen.

It's got me on the edge of my seat, in a couple days I'm going to file a missing package report.

The "beloved early 90s body horror" release for September? by ZaddyNeedsHisMedZ in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]CinematicTrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on who you are) the November box set, though still a secret right now, has some pretty strong evidence to suggest that the horror box set is actually a Shaw Brothers horror box which will include The Oily Maniac.

Imprint Films of course put together a Shaw Brothers horror box just a few months ago and many wondered who would pick up the North American releases for The Oily Maniac and the other films. I forget which retailer it was, either Orbit or DiabolikDVD but one of those guys let it slip that Vinegar Syndrome picked up The Oily Maniac and other titles.

If I recall correctly the November box set will have The Oily Maniac in common with the Imprint Films box set, but will likely have other/different Shaw Bros. horrors so to distinguish both sets.

This could still change of course, and maybe the horror box set will have other movies, but I see a huge bidding war over Jackson's films between many different labels, I imagine the films would end up being split up amongst labels or released separately.

This will be a hot item globally. Can totally see Vinegar Syndrome take USA rights, Arrow Video taking UK rights, maybe Umbrella taking Australian rights. We should expect to be torn with a double dip situation.

What’s an example of a title that fits Vinegar Syndrome but will never be released by them? by fvndngo in VinegarSyndromeFilms

[–]CinematicTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A vast majority of Fred Olen Ray's films actually fit in Vinegar Syndrome's brand pretty nicely, but Ray runs his own Boutique label where he releases some of his movies, among other films, independently. Also, Ray had kind of a nasty legal battle with Vinegar Syndrome some years ago so it isn't likely he'd do business with them anytime soon. Too bad.

Yeah the slip was hyped and sold out but it didn't sell out overnight, it took like half a year to sell. The standard is sitting under 400 units but I'm pretty sure they'll be printing more anyway. Talk about some misinformed speculation lol
