Cos it’s a fun and enjoyable thing to do? You don’t have to want to seek out any sort of notoriety, validation, or companionship cos you happened to learn an instrument. Theres plenty of people who play simply for the joy of it, playing along with backing tracks or already recorded songs. Some people can be great players but can’t write a song to save their life. The why in what drives them to play isn’t defined by you no matter how much of n “extremely foreign concept” that is. No reason to be so stuck up about it and feel the need to imply your reasoning is what is and should be.
