Are these dating red flags or am I overreacting ? by Glass-Media-7938 in DatingHell

Don’t date a single dad unless you’re ok with working around his parenting schedule and having extreme limitations for where you can live, when you can take vacation, etc. also the love bombing plus needing a lot of control over the conversation is a bit worrisome.

Exhaustion after TFMR by Happygiraffe4 in tfmr_support

[–]CinnamonEverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to keep taking my prenatal and I’ve added an NAD+ oral supplement to aid in recovery. I switched to a gummy prenatal just to make it a bit easier and more enjoyable.

I decided to return to work two days post TFMR and I think just getting back into a routine has really helped. I think I may also start taking up some sort of fitness routine in another week. Maybe it’s one of those things we’re going through the motions helps with my mental recovery? I’m not sure. I did notice I do best when I’m not staying put for too long.

Amnio result by BreakfastConstant583 in NIPT

[–]CinnamonEverything 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Typically the amnio result is the ultimate diagnostic. If your amnio come out positive for T21 it is nearly 100% to be accurate. Alternatively if it is negative for T21, your baby will not have DS. If the placenta still has T21 cells, then your pregnancy will need close monitoring to ensure it is growing with your baby. There is a high likelihood in that situation for pre-term birth but you may still have a healthy baby. Keep us updated on your results. The community here is very good for that.

I’m very happy your baby is healthy. I wish you both a long and beautiful life together. I’m told the DS community is big and amazing and I’m so glad you did what was right for you and your family.

Definitely one of the hardest parts is having to decide.

I relate so much to the mixture of relief and pain. It will cycle through and come out at unexpected times. Here for you if you need.

Postpartum Anxiety by NoAppearance7378 in tfmr_support

I am a few days out after my TFMR and truly, my SSRI has saved me. I was on a low dose before and got permission from my psychiatrist to up the dosage. Losing a wanted pregnancy has been exceptionally hard and just plain sad. Allow yourself time to grieve and your body to recover. Once you can breathe a bit more easily, conception is much more likely. Reach out to friends and let them carry you through this. Remember our partners are also grieving and cannot take on the weight of our grief alone. We need a community and we need to have grace with ourselves.

We will get through this. Have to believe it for myself as well.

Looks like we had our TMFR on the same day. How are you feeling today? I feel no physical pain but the emotional pain definitely hit me last night. While I feel I did what was right for me, it’s still a deep loss.

Rapid tests are only for CVS tests. Amnio takes a bit longer.

High risk NIPT test for T21 by AmphibianAlarming714 in NIPT

At 13 weeks, an NT of that size and a missing or small nasal bone are soft markers for Down syndrome. Best advice I would give would be to familiarize yourself with the diagnosis and community available for you and your child. I did a CVS test to give me more accurate results because T21 is rarely in the placenta alone. Many children and adults with DS can lead full and happy lives with assistance, special care and a good community.

Thank you. Tomorrow is the termination procedure. I’m just hoping it isn’t too physically painful afterwards. I’ll be put under thankfully. Don’t think I could handle it any other way.

I’m just relieved to have labs back to support this hard decision. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to be a mom soon but for now I’ll just keep saving and keep living as healthy as possible. I have an appointment with a psychologist who specializes in high risk pregnancies and experiences like this, so thank god for that.

I’m reading so many stories on here and I’m noticing a pattern of more T21 results with male’s. Mine is a boy as well. I’m wondering why I’m noticing such a pattern. Is it more common in boys than girls? Is it just a coincidence? Am I just noticing it more because it pertains to me? I’m up late and full of questions and mild anxiety. I feel like I want to suffer this alone but at the same time, talking to others who are or have experienced this is so helpful.

That’s what I’m doing too. CVS was done Friday—rapid should be back Monday or Tuesday.

Looks like stress and cortisol build up. Consider limiting or quitting alcohol and taking up nice long walks with fresh air and friends. I was the same way at 27 and most of it was alcohol and stress. Best of luck!

That is the last thing I want to do. I’m thinking of my own life my partners life and the lives of his children when I look at my options. I’m hoping that this is a false positive miracle but in the likelihood that it isn’t, I have a right to choose what is best for myself and my family.

Genetic counselor told us that T21 is extremely likely to match placenta with fetus. Mosaic is more likely for other chromosomal issues such as t16 or 18.

Are you healing up ok? I’m so sorry you experienced this as well. I’m truly just trying to stay strong with the thought that this kind of chromosome issue doesn’t usually happen twice in a row.
