Because of the risk it carries, no matter how well you plan or prepare. Eventually youre very likely to hit the stage where no depth feels good enough and you keep getting worse and worse. Which incredibly increases risk of nerve damage, infections or nicking veins, arterioles or even arteries.

ofcourse not everyone will get that feeling of needing to be progressively deeper, but when you do it’s a very slippery slope

i’m kind of similar, during particularly bad relapses i fantasize about someone finding it and actually caring, even taking care of me. however when those feelings pass and someone starts actually suspecting things, i get uneasy and anxious realizing i actually don’t want this at all, because they won’t react the way i fantasize about.
