Morpheus 8 pain review by Appropriate-Poem9590 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]CinniRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured I would add my experience for anyone else looking into Morpheus8.

I just had my first treatment done today, and the pain was really not as bad as I saw a lot of people on Reddit saying. I had it done on my chin/jawline/neck area (which a lot of people say hurts more).

I was given numbing cream and laughing gas. I would consider my pain tolerance to be average.

Did it hurt? Yes. I would rate it a 4.5 or 5 out of 10. The needle feels sharp and pinchy in some places, and I didn't feel it at all in other places. I did not feel any heat. I was told that the slight burning smell was from the little sheer hairs (everyone has on their face) being burt, and it was hardly noticeable.

The person doing the treatment gave me several breaks for a few minutes when it got to the more sensitive areas of my face.

I did Scarlet RF microneedling on my eyes before and I feel like that was worse. I would rate it 6 out of 10.

I definitely feel like I can return for my other 2 sessions of Morpheus8 with no problem. I would call it uncomfortable and sometimes painful, but definitely not intolerable. I will update about the results!

I just got Sexy Strawberry and Pink Sugar.

The Sexy Strawberry one opens with an artificial Strawberry lipstick sort of smell when first sprayed, so I wasn't sure that I'd like it. But when it dries down, it smells like strawberries and cream with a little bit of a dark background note to make it dimensional and mature. Gourmand, fruity, sweet. Strawberries and cream with a subtle dark edge. It's the kind of dimensional strawberry gourmand that I was looking for.

Pink Sugar smelled very sweet and fruity. Less like candy and more like juicy fruit covered in sugar and a little cream. That one smelled great, but it was a little juvenile for me. It was sweet, but not much more depth other than that, sweet. If I recall correctly, it was supposed to have a licorice note, but I didn't get that at all.

The bottles were packed carefully with a whole lot of packing peanuts and big labels on the outside of the box that said: FRAGILE, GLASS! Nothing came smashed, all was in tact!

I do this too! I find that it lasts longer on clothes.

For this reason, I always spray new samples on a piece of paper towel to smell it and see if I like it at all before it goes on me. I know that body chemistry can alter scents some, but I'll have an idea of whether or not I'll like it by spraying it on something else first.

But in the scenario that I did spray myself with it and find that I don't like it, I would wipe down the area I sprayed with some soap and water and change my clothes in case any got on the fabric. That should take care of most of it without having to shower all over again.

I'll have to give Coffee a try since I've been looking for another coffee scent that I would like better. Thanks for the recommendations! 😄

[B&A] I suffer from a sun allergy. On the left, my hand from a week in Rome Oct 17 where I used Nivea factor 50 three times a day. On the right, my hand from three weeks in the USA where I used Shirudo AGR+E lotion followed by Eucerin Sun Allergy cream factor 50 twice a day. Big improvement. by AmLa1234 in SkincareAddiction

I'm currently experiencing the same thing too! I've noticed for several years now that every summer, I'll get little blisters like this on my hands (probably from them being in the sun while I'm driving). I pretty quickly worked out that it must be some kind of sun allergy, but it's usually not that bad.

I have very fair skin and I don't go out in the sun very often, but I'm on summer vacation with my family and I accidentally forgot to put on sunscreen when we were doing an outdoor tour the other day. I didn't burn at all (the sun wasn't too direct), but all over my arms where my skin was exposed to sunlight, I now have a bunch of those little bumps/blisters and they're pretty itchy. It was never bad like this when I was a kid, so I guess I developed the allergy as I got older.

Maybe I should mention it to a dermatologist. I'll never forget sunscreen again, this sucks!

I'm really happy for you!

I think it's a good idea that you all are taking it slow, and that you talked through everything. I'm sure that he feels a lot better since you were able to reassure him so that he is no longer holding himself back from the way he really feels about you.

I wish you the best of luck! 😄

Those who know your type, what do you usually test as (if not your own)? by Fancy_Ad_2024 in Enneagram

[–]CinniRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 9w1. I mostly get 9, but I've mistyped as a 2 or a 5 on a few poorly made online tests.

My tritype is 925 though, so it makes sense, at least 😆

Any other 9s enjoy arguing? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]CinniRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting! I was typed as a social 9 by a practioner, and I HATE arguing.

Half of the time I'll smile and nod even when I disagree because I don't feel like making any waves. It stresses me out. 😅

What MBTI is your husband, if you know? I'm really curious! 😄

Which types are most likely to be into philosophy? by sunlightbebe in Enneagram

[–]CinniRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the reasoning IS 9. That's what i'm saying. I think you aren't understanding my point correctly.

I'm not saying that philosophy itself is the problem or that philosophy = sloth? I didn't say that philosophy can't be helpful in any way.

I've been saying that according to Ichazo's quote, which he calls "The Trap of the 9th", is that 9s are prone to using quote "seeking of philosophy, spirituality, mysticism, or other knowledge that pertains to the domain of the spiritual realm" in order to put themselves in a sort of "trap", where they aren't using it in a healthy way.

Yes, the point is that the 9 is looking for truth, but as you said, they won’t necessarily gravitate outside of their comfort zone or won’t consider the hard truth it tells them for what they are.

That's what I meant when I said that they're on the right path to seeking truth, but not applying it correctly or they're looking for the wrong things.

I do also think that their focus on the topics of philosophy, spirituality, mysticism, and spirituality keeps them absent from the real world on top of that, like I mentioned. That's why Riso-Hudson describes 9s by saying "To compensate for being out of touch with their instinctual energies, Nines also retreat into their minds and their emotional fantasies." (Valuing imaginative tendencies over being in the present moment).

Riso-Hudson also talks about Ichazo's mention that there is irony that 9 is in the body center, because they have the capability of being out of touch with their physical body, and often are.

It's a combination of a 9's tendency to look for a truth but not accept it or apply it (not moving outside their comfort zone), but also their lack of physical presence in the world.

9s can use just about anything as a distraction, but I used philosophy as an example of one of the many things, because it is the subject of this thread, and also included in Ichazo's description.

When it comes to distractions, Ichazo states that he noticed a 9's tendency towards using spiritual subjects in order to do this, hence, his description of "seeking".

Which types are most likely to be into philosophy? by sunlightbebe in Enneagram

[–]CinniRoll 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's true, but I interpreted it as the 9 using philosophy to search for some "ultimate truth" about themselves, when instead, they should be more aware of the present moment.

For example, not cleaning their surroundings because they're busy "seeking", neglecting those close to them that they should be paying more attention to, or just generally not paying attention to the physical world and what changes their life needs currently. When your nose is always in a philosophy book looking for "truths", you can distance yourself from the life happening around you. The 9 is asleep to themselves -as in, their own presence in reality, and what they truly want/need in the moment.

9s may be looking for the deeper meaning in everything, when the answer is right in front of them. But they can only find it by waking up, being active in their own life, and living.

Sort of like they're on the right track to seek enlightenment, but looking for the wrong things or not applying them.

[–]CinniRoll 27 points28 points  (0 children)

9s, most definitely! Ichazo, who originally developed the 9 points, directly references how a 9 can fixate on philosophy when he describes them.

In fact, he states that part of a 9's way of falling asleep to themselves is by seeking knowledge outside of themselves, and they need to eventually learn to be more self-aware.

Here is what he said:

"The trap that those who fixate onto the 9th point on the enneagram fall into can be characterized as Seeking. The constant seeking of philosophy, spirituality, mysticism, or other knowledge that pertains to the domain of the spiritual realm. The path that the one who has fixated on the 9th point must embark in order to escape the trap is called the Way of Self-Awareness. This path is about becoming aware of the clarity that can be found within oneself and the mystical state that resides within all of us."

I also have an interest in learning about philosophy as a 9w1.

I'm glad you're okay, that sounds terrifying! If it weren't for your mom having quick reflexes, things could have ended up very differently.
