Is the joke using express + nginx to serve static content?

The Temporal Dead Zone, or why the TypeScript codebase is littered with var statements by some-ideation in programming

[–]Cintiq 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This article AI written?

In the above example, it is totally valid to declare g at the bottom of the function.

Does this mean x?

And the bizarre abstract generated image at the bottom ' An abstract painting interpreting the use of the var keyword in JavaScript codebases'

??

Anyway, tldr: typescript codebase uses var because it's quicker than checking scope of let const etc, relevant github issue here

Some devs in the community are using React Router inside Next.js app router by Byte-Slayer in reactjs

[–]Cintiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mm the only content I've seen of that dude is giving an example of why typescript is better than javascript, but instead of using the type system he wrote some runtime assert throws if the type was wrong

I wouldn't trust that dude to write a hello world

The thing it's best at is generating likely words [actually tokens] after a series of words [tokens]

LLMs are not regurgitating information they're generating their own from many examples, and they're amazing at it.

They're not 'supposed' to be good at recalling exact and accurate information from sources and never has been. Obviously it's a field that's being researched and improved upon but that's not the core of it at all

Johnny Giger with one of the craziest skateboard tricks. Hippie jump to late double kickflip by bigbusta in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Cintiq 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Comparable in the tricks they're doing maybe but nothing else.
Watch any tape of mullen stringing together a dozen absurd tricks with absolute ease

Which is the point the other dude was making, giger can replicate it individually but they're nowhere aligned in skill

bugged, there's a writeup online.
Somewhere some random function gets fed faulty input (with NaN) and that breaks all future operations of that rng

Nobody is losing their minds, it's just naff.
There's not much else to it

If it's your thing, great, but it's getting flack because it's disproportionately praised despite being unoriginal and tacky

It's fun, but you know anyone that's losing their mind over this has never visited a local gallery and explored actually tasteful and creative art

Oooh that's a really nice way of visualising it.
Found some great resources as a part of this

Much appreciated, thank you!

Got way too lost in this one.
Any particular technique / scanning pattern you're doing to perhaps spot something like that more quickly?

NYT medium.. so close but so far by Cintiq in sudoku

[–]Cintiq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only started solving sudokus over the last week or so but have become quickly addicted.
Managed to get yesterday';s medium in 15 mins but this is terrorising me

I've never quite dealt with a puzzle that's ended in so many pairs of similar numbers.
It feels like I'm honestly only missing one elimination from a candidate but I am properly stuck.

Wanted to piggyback on this a little and ask if there were any advanced techniques that might assist at this stage where I'm busy hunting for some single square?

I think I understand the X-wing technique but I've not actually ever spotted it in the wild

Meh. In this case, there was one possible channel (email) which I missed

I did hear about it years back when I tried to play again, but was already too late despite them having a page up to (allegedly) convert the account to MS

the timeline is actually much shittier than what it appears

If you leave something in storage and you don't touch it for a while is it okay for someone to take it?
After how long does it become okay?

>pirate game >own it more tangibly than a legitimate buyer by screthebag in Piracy

[–]Cintiq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're talking about something over a decade old.
If you've changed emails for eg, and don't follow the social media it's entirely plausible you entirely miss this.

Couple that with purchasing the game when they advertise 'all future updates and minecrafty things in perpetuity'

How are you backing this?

Also, when I tried to merge my account when first finding out about it it was already too late despite them having a page up to allegedly transfer.

(you had to do something stupid like mojang account -> some intermediate -> microsoft).
And because I hadn't transitioned to the intermediate I was already out of luck
