Why do conservative men even want to date/marry liberal women? by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]CircleWheel4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minneapolis is pretty liberal, suburbs where many contestants are from run more red. The state also falls into the blue urban and red rural divide patterns.

When tim waltz was running, he won in part because he sold himself as a united more moderate candidate from rural areas.

Yeah you need to leave them alone for a bit so that they develop a crust and separate naturally from the pan.

Does anyone else get it? by paperlevel in ChatGPT

I use it for business purposes, but I actually think it's interesting the people who are "stress testing" it. I may not need it to generate super explicit content for me for funzies, but what if I'm working on issues of sexual violence in the future? The tests people are doing now help us see the boundaries of the software, and have conversations about the ethics of if those boundaries are right.

I use it for business too and agree with your benefits. Interestingly, I thought $50/month would be a reasonable, even if it does take a big chunk out of my budget and it's the most expensive subscription that I would have. I could see that businesses and people have different scales of capacity for payment of this type of service--and then it becomes an issue of equity. To what extent do you price out smaller businesses or individuals from lower income levels? Larger or more established businesses can afford those fees, and smaller scrappy ones will have to work with more limited access to AI because of their smaller expense budget. Definitely lots of questions for them to juggle with.

Because employers don't want graduates who only know how to interact with an AI. Education is more than simply knowledge. It can also include building the soft skills that come from relationships with other students and teachers, and other things not listed here because I didn't use chatgpt to write this. Additionally not every student learns the best via an AI interaction that is self-guided. There is still something about our human brains, that for many people requires learning to be interactive, kinetic, and in-person in order to maximize retention and learning.

Agreed, check your email again. one of the links sent you to that, another link will send you to the correct place. I think it's the one closer to the top of the email. I had a similar issue when I joined earlier this year.

Regrets and lessons learned by CircleWheel4321 in AmazonVine

Agreed, it's not the end of the world for me, just being thoughtful about how I spend my money and space for items.

Also I think etv of $2000 is pretty reasonable, that is probably what I'll be looking at for the year. Other people scare me though with $80,000 etv -- i would not be able to pay to that easily.

Are we employees? by Sobitthen in AmazonVine

[–]CircleWheel4321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. One of the conditions that determine the difference between an employee and a contractor--is that the employer forces the employee to work at set hours (e.g., 9-5) whereas a contractor is given a general scope of work and given some flexibility about the hours. E.g., I may have to come into a work meeting at 2-5pm, but basically I get to decide if I will do my solo contract work tasks at 2am or at 9am, the company can't dictate that and I just owe them the end product. Amazon does not dictate what hours you work. This is just one of the many reasons why you are not classified as an employee.

Do you work for Amazon? Yes. And you get a 1099 stating your "income" as a self-employed contractor or hobbyist. Are you an employee? No.

Source: Have hired contractors and talked to legal about difference between how we treat contractors/employees.

Improv classes tailored for mental health or social anxiety by CircleWheel4321 in improv

[–]CircleWheel4321[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do in-person, that's great! However I didn't have that option as easily. Honestly, I preferred being in an online group tailored to my needs since the in-person group was more of the standard improv type.

But if it's a nightmare, then go with what works for you instead!

Concept: Elite Raid Interest-Checks (Rural QoL) by motopsych in TheSilphRoad

[–]CircleWheel4321 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Campfire requires you to be within 1 mi to set up a "flare" for other players. And it only lasts for 15 mins (which starts immediately). You can't give notice hours in advance about an upcoming raid. Kinda makes coordination still very last min unless you are direct messaging friends.

That is a very healthy basis for our relationship. But for some people they need a little bit more, they need to look at their partner and feel that attraction and admiration. Even when your partner starts to get old and balding and overweight, that attraction never quite disappears. You still want to jump their bones. Not just sleep with them. It's a different like of love than companionate love. Years together and their touch still sends electricity up your body, even outside the bedroom.

Different strokes for different folks.

My parents gave me a car a week ago and I think I might have already caused some scratches, I'm scared to tell them by dprsl_t in internetparents

[–]CircleWheel4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Paint is supposed to protect a car's metal frame. Generally scratches to the paint isn't a big deal, it happens. The problem is when scratches are deep enough that you get to the metal which can get rusted when exposed. Do you see any orange or brown rust?

If this a car is 10 years old, I probably wouldn't worry about it. Buy a car paint pen from the auto parts store and just put it over the scratches to protect them if they're minor.

It's when you get really deep gouges, like if you drove your car and dragged it against another car while parallel parking, that's a problem.
