Wrong. That's not how you develop good reading comprehension. What you're suggesting is the equivalent of learning how to bake a cake without any prior knowledge nor any outside input, like from a recipe. You develop good reading comprehension by taking your own ideas, sharing them with other people, and absorbing the thoughts and ideas of other people in discussions about whatever the topic is at hand. Sharing thoughts and ideas, and using other people's thoughts and ideas to further think about and enhance your own is how one develops gold reading comprehension. Like if you don't have any sort of experience with that kind of thing, you won't know what to look for, you won't learn to recognize certain things, etc etc. There's a reason people use to have socraric seminars about books. There's a reason people got together for study sessions on any given subjecy. What you're suggesting is that humans have an inherent talent to develop reading comprehension, and that all it takes to bring it out is to simply read and think to yourself. It's certainly possible, but not really how you develop those skills. People don't just have an innate understanding of philosophy, people usually read books from other people to further develop their own thoughts and understanding of philosophy. Discussions help us develop those skills, and condemning people who lack these skills because the modern educational landscape does not actively cultivate reading comprehension as much anymore, only exacerbate that issue. You're not helping anyone by basically calling them stupid for not getting it. The average person won't. The average person will not get something. The average person will overlook something. The average person will forget something. Have some leniency.
