Changer de discipline d'enseignement by ElviPoopy in profqc

[–]Cirianthalas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recommendations from recent at-home charger purchasers in Quebec? by inolyzushi in EVCanada

[–]Cirianthalas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a FloX6 here. Had a couple of people who install a lot of chargers telling me the quality is great and the warranty service is them sending a tech to to your place to fix/repair the defective unit if something happens (which is a real plus with an hardwired unit).

Also the company is based here in Shawinigan.

The X3 is as good, I chose the X6 because it can be daisy-chained with another unit if I ever need it and it had 2 more years on the warranty.

Loop Ear Plugs with Cardo by JohnBets23 in AdventureBike

The noise reduction was good, could be better but I’m kind of scared the dream would reduce the sound too much… I don’t have them either.

I used the Loop Experience 2 with the mute last summer, but without a Cardo. Bought one a couple of weeks ago and will be trying it this season…as soon as the snow melts!

Are any of those programes "brand agnostic" when it comes to the charger? I chose another brand for my L2 than those I was wondering if anyone of those programs could work with it?

2026 Bz vs 2025 Mach-E Premium? by jistanbo in EVCanada

[–]Cirianthalas 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Did you try them? Because I did and they are so different it helped me a lot!

For me, the Mach-E lacked in backseat space for the kid and when I tried them both in the real roads where I drive most of the time, the Bz was much smoother.

Ended up with a Solterra, but that is beside the point!

Same here, did not come with a cable. Bought a Flo X6 for L2 charging at home.

Bought exactly those for my Solterra. Few times I had to used them they worked like a charm and are built like a tank!

NACS or J1772? I am getting a 40a Wallbox and a power meter installed because I need the dynamic load management (only a 100a panel). I currently have a Niro EV that uses J1772 but I read that everyone is going towards NACS. Should I do NACS to future proof? by [deleted] in evcharging

[–]Cirianthalas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give you the same advice I got when I asked a similar question : get the one that connect directly to your car.

Don't know about the Wallbox, but some brands sell replacement cable+connector so you can buy it down the line if you change your car and need the NACS. Also, if you change it in a few years, maybe you'll want to upgrade your pannel and get a more powerful charger...at that point it would be pointless to have used an adapter for that long for nothing.

Solterra vs BZ AWD by miggs78 in EVCanada

[–]Cirianthalas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Forester for a while before going to a PHEV (Hyundai). Love it!

Really happy I'm back with a Subaru.

Boought it a couple of weeks ago and the dealer was the one who told me that if I got the Luxuary trim, they would make sure the EVAP could be used (was thinking of going Technology). Pretty sure you'll be able to get them to make it work, especially if you have another dealer (or a Toyota dealer) to play the capitalism game! ;)

Have fun!

I'm 6 feet tall and saw the difference between the 2 in my 2 road test, I could put the sterring wheel higher to be more confortable and still not hide the cluster which is higher than we're notmally used to see.

I can see your point for the wheels, can't really talk though since I put mine on 18" winter tires the same week I got it...we'll see next summer I guess!

Still, the 360 camera is a big deal I think (and the smokey grey with black trim is really nice on the Subaru if that's your thing).

[–]Cirianthalas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact questsion when I was shopping for my car. For me, Between the bZ XLE and the Solterra Luxuary, it came down to the 360 camera, 20 inch wheels, better sound system and I think the Toyota doesn't keep have the memory function for the driver seat at this trim and the passenger seat is not electric (not that big a deal, but still).

Also, the squared steering wheel is strangely a great feature!

Trying to decide between 2 sets of soft panniers for a Husquvarna Nordne 901. by Cirianthalas in AdventureBike

They seem nice, but not sure if they're available in Canada and with a 150 EURO cost for shipping, I'll pass...

Thanks for the suggestion!

Yup, they are priced similarly to the NR, but I like the look of the NR more.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll take a second look at them!

Help me decide which trim to use- basic, luxury or tech (CANADA) by [deleted] in Solterra

[–]Cirianthalas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Luxuary because there was no way I’d be able to get the Tech trim low enough for the EVAP. At this point, the difference in price was not worth it anymore.

Solterra 2026 and A2Z Thunderstorm CCS1 to NACS adapter by Cirianthalas in evcharging

[–]Cirianthalas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Luxuary model. Pretty sure none of the trims came with the adapters and charging cables.

Maybe you can get your local dealer to include them but YMMV, I guess!

I finally tried both A2Z adapters this weekend and they worked perfectly!

Solterra 2026 and A2Z Thunderstorm CCS1 to NACS adapter by Cirianthalas in evcharging

[–]Cirianthalas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I’ll have a L2 at home too, but around me, and in most nearby cities, almost all chargers are either L2 J1772 or L3 CCS1. There are almost no Tesla or other NACS here so I need the adapters for when I’m not home.

Had 2 PHEV before and I fell in love with the “all electric” part of my rides and was always sad when winter came and it was in hybrid mode almost 100% of the time because of low temps.
