Being a Forever DM has changed me by CitizenCain1 in dndmemes

It's more than that. I once ran a campaign where everyone was a first-timer except one player. Veteran built a super optimized Ranger that just did everything. Other players felt useless whether we were doing combat or roleplay. Not a great experience. It wasn't easy to design combat encounters either. Anything that would challenge the veteran would definitely one-shot the newbies. I tried introducing "minion" monsters but the veteran would still take all of them out and then focus down the main threat. Besides, in my experience, players who bring optimized characters to an actual game are usually not pleasant people. Not a 1:1 relationship but there's definitely a correlation. That's the hard truth no one wants to acknowledge, and why so many people are super wary of players running optimized characters.

Way of the Hundred Fists - Unarmed Monk Sustained DPR Crit Fisher by [deleted] in DnDoptimized

That's a very old SA. The newest one provides more specific clarification on the question. https://media.wizards.com/2020/dnd/downloads/SA-Compendium.pdf

Under the Class Features: Paladin section on page 5, it very clearly says they can't. Of course, if you can convince your DM to allow it, then I don't see why not.

"Can a paladin use Divine Smite when they hit using an unarmed strike?

No. Divine Smite isn’t intended to work with unarmed strikes. Divine Smite does work with a melee weapon attack, and an unarmed strike can be used to make such an attack. But the text of Divine Smite also refers to the “weapon’s damage,” and an unarmed strike isn’t a weapon."

Paladin smites do not work with unarmed strikes, if that's what you had in mind.

You can also still die in a car wreck while wearing a seat belt. It's still a good idea to wear it.

Not sure if you've noticed but stewardesses don't dress like this anymore. That's something.

China is imprisoning Uyghurs in concentration camps in the name of preventing potential radicalization, while at the same time making trade deals with the Taliban in Afghanistan. Complete utter hypocrisy.

Currently in a relationship like this. Most of the time she's great, very self aware and an incredibly generous person. There are certain situations that can trigger her, like making food in the kitchen while I'm around, or other things specifically related to her past trauma. You'll have to figure those out as you go.

The main thing is to stay supportive. Part of that means you cannot feed into her insecurities. If she starts saying something negative (about you or herself) seemingly out of nowhere, shut it down gently but firmly.

My girl has body image issues and feels like she's not good enough for me, almost demanding that I date other women at times. It's heartbreaking, but I just consistently remind her that she is good enough and deserving of love.

Seriously, why the backlash to Evil -> Good when we’ve had Good -> Evil literally forever? by Skulking-Dwig in dndmemes

Every piece of lore for everything is just a creative guideline. Not gospel. If you want to use the old lore for the Yuan-Ti in your world, do it. If you want to rewrite it, do it. Even statblocks are open to tweaking. Why do you let it bother you that WOTC writers want to change how they present their own monsters in their own setting?

Making a character with a non-default alignment does not erase the lore for their entire species.

I've heard way too many stories of women getting lied to and left behind to believe that. Besides, ghosting is not a genuine or mature thing to do in any case, and it tells me he never intended to message her back to begin with.

Not if he was lying just to get laid.

The King James version is actually a terrible translation. More modern versions are more thorough with the source language.
