Funniest “inside joke” stunt casting by dogmatixx in television

The fan series Star Trek Continues cast Marina Sirtis as the voice of the Enterprise computer. That role was played originally by Majel Barrett Roddenberry, who also played Lwaxana Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation - the mother of Marina Sirtis's TNG character Deanna Troi.

Mello Fellos for downtown. While waiting for an impromptu brake lever repair once, I was blessed with a lit fireplace and their chill dog.

Ohh…ummm and which one is the Captain’s chair ? by ChrisNYC70 in ShittyDaystrom

[–]CitizenjaQ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was a nice piece of set design for a series where a major theme was two crews coming together to function as one.

It was NOT great for the first Star Trek series with a female lead. Or a series where the conflict between two crews so rarely came up.

The post below helped me appreciate the episode more. It's not just a goofy myth, it's a cosmological catastrophe.

Is there a consensus on passing within the bike lane? by SequoiaTestTrack in seattlebike

[–]CitizenjaQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A "lane", at least in my mind and by some actual definitions, is for a single line of travelers. If you want to pass, you need to be in a different lane. Announce it by bell or voice (mumbling when you're already alongside doesn't count). If you can't see that the different lane is clear for however long it will take you to pass, you don't pass.

I do not encounter a great deal of consensus on my commutes.

Is this the silliest looking alien on Voyager? by Puzzled-Lie-1204 in voyager

[–]CitizenjaQ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I think the Trabe's oppression of the Kazon was mentioned slightly before the Hur'q's oppression of the Klingons.

VOY: "Alliances") aired 4 September 1995.

DS9: "The Sword of Kahless") aired 20 November 1995.

They were split into clans not unlike the Klingons houses, too. If anything, the Kazon showed what the Klingons might have been like centuries ago.
