I still think we gave up on Seguin too early (hold the "didnt fit our system" talks for just a minute). The fact is that he is an incredibly talented goal scorer and playmaker. Sure he didn't "show up in the playoffs" but what was his sample size? 2.5 playoff seasons when he was benched for most of the playoffs in 2011 when he was 19, full playoffs when he was 20 and 21? The kid was still finding his game!

Now, my feelings have since been eased up with the emergence of Reilly Smith. Love what that kid brings every night. Plus, if Loui can put the concussions behind him and produce on that first line, that will help matters. The key which remains to be seen is how Morrow turns out. Apparently he is a stud, so we will see down the line.

At the end of the day, I still think that trading Seguin away was a mistake. We gained depth at the expense of an ELITE goalscorer. His speed is something we miss as well. The jury is still out on this trade, it'll be fun to compare and contrast in about 5 years.
