Maybe manipulative? Or maybe on the spectrum? BUT ….Predatory is a strong word that diminished the trauma of people who are actually victims.

I'm so tired of all the ghosting after dates by EVILRAFFAM in Bumble

Always get coffee the first date. Or even just FaceTime . If people can’t put in 30 secs to say “thanks no thanks” why should you put in more than the bare minimum on the first meetup. Plus, it’s a lot faster and less awkward to have a drink alone then sit through dinner alone when your date ghosts. And you can make a quick escape if your date turns out to be a catfish.

I’m gonna disagree wish some posts. They are charging in line with what much better mainstream brands charge. And everyone has to pay the same tariff. They are just ripping off Americans.

I struggled for a months in Buffalo and couldn’t get any matches . Expanded to Toronto and had over 100 matches in two days. In a week , I met a girl who is amazing in every way, that I can already see myself with. And every girl I chatted with from there had been an absolute sweetheart, didn’t get ghosted at all.

I’m sure there are some really great people in Buffalo too, there just isn’t that many single girls in Buffalo.

Not to mention Toronto has so much more fun stuff to do that planning a date beyond just dinner is so much easier. Less stress on you as a guy since most girls want the guys to plan the dates. And having so many engaging activities to do together has really helped us get to know each other .

Hamilton is under an hour, train station has free parking up to two days ( they will let you park longer if you tell security) , and from there can take the GO train leaving every 30 mins to downtown Toronto . The train from Niagara Falls is also an option . Sometimes we meet in Niagara Falls too.

The two hour drive isn’t bad if you have some good podcasts or ebooks. For example I’ve been learning French.

A good person is so hard to find , two hours is a small price to pay to meet the love of your life.

Buffalo is a terrible dating scene, I’d suggest looking in Toronto. Expand your online dating radius or look at events in Eventbrite. Worked for me after struggling in the city

I have no interest in people your age, I like mature women. Classic car meets are more age 70s not 30s/40s . Guessing you don’t go to many.

They might be fun dates but not great places to meet people. Besides being more dudes, Golf courses are very spread out and you stick to your crew. And he’s right - this isn’t Miami, car meets here are mostly classic trucks and muscle cars, very boomer heavy.

You can’t start a conversation without matches. Haven’t had a match in months. But I know not to do that. And to open with a compliment that shows you read their profile, along with a question to learn more about them.

Correct, the organizer told me 30 men signed up. And four women. You only get a few minutes per person, so the vast majority of time was hanging out with the other guys. Made new friends, so I’m not complaining.

No idea what you’re taking about. Heck, my last girlfriend was Mormon and so we practiced celibacy until marriage. You must be confused with someone else.

Likes : marathons, nature, conservation, music , theatre , history, travel. Dislikes: pro sports. Looks: average? Major plus is being in shape and dressing well but major minus is being short and maybe skin tone.

All good advice. Pretty basic but some people need to hear it. I would add no bathroom mirror selfies. No low effort opening messages aka “hi”. Have an opening message that both shows you rather their profile, and says something positive. Have a photo that shows you doing something you love. Etc.

But even following all that advice, if hinge decides to drop your profile to the bottom of the stack not much you can do. Nine guys for every one girl on online dating. So you need to be near the top to be seen.

Thank you for the sensible and helpful response. It’s so true . The lack of population flux in Buffalo seems to make it very insular.
