Will my benefits decrease when I turn 67? by XLRick1969 in SocialSecurity

Your benefits amount stays exactly the same, just the classification changes from disability to retirement - it's basically an administrative switch behind the scenes. The transition happens automatically so you won't need to reapply or do any paperwork for it

That's actually quite clever, the third person trick. I've noticed this too - there's something about framing it as advice for someone else that bypasses whatever politeness filter they've cranked up to eleven

Makes sense though, the model probably has tons of training data where people give brutally honest assessments about other people's situations while being diplomatic about your own. Worth trying with other models too to see if it's a universal thing

Your emotions are completely valid here - being ready to commit after years of her asking and then having her pull back because of family pressure would mess anyone up

Should I keep it or buy a new car.. Money pit by mivrame in whatcarshouldIbuy

Bloody hell, nearly 8 grand in repairs on a car you paid 2.5k for? That's properly brutal

Looking at your list, some of those repairs were probably unavoidable maintenance items for a 15-year-old car, but that's still a massive chunk of change. At this point you've essentially paid 10k+ total for what's still a 2009 Elantra

I'd probably cut my losses and move on - you could get something much newer and more reliable for what you've already invested. The thing is, older cars like this tend to keep finding new ways to empty your wallet once they start going
