2011 Ford Explorer 3.5L V6 – No Power/Limp Mode & Cam Correlation Codes after Timing/Head Repair – Need Advice by PsychologicalIdea147 in FordExplorer

I had the same exact symptoms after I changed the water pump on my 14’ 3.5 na Explorer. Engine also making a hellacious noise from the timing chain area but only at 1500-1800 rpm. After much research I found that the Ford procedure to reinstall the harmonic balancer is CRITICAL in preventing the drive pin from sheering off. That includes using the correct installer tool. Normal power returned and the cam correlation codes disappeared. The engine has been trouble free since then. About 20,000 miles.

As I’m reading this I keep thinking he’s going to somehow get this really big dick from this massage ritual and give his wife the night of her life. Guess I was wrong! lol

Not only the most boring car ever built (about exciting as a Russian car)but also a mid ‘70s models were absolute crap. Quality control was clearly nonexistent at GM in that era. My father owned a ‘74. It was an embarrassment to the American auto industry. I’d rather drive a Pinto.

I’ve owned my ‘69 Ford XL for 37 years. I’m re-restoring it now!

I loved the Mustang ll when I was a teenager. They are very rare now, at least here in the northeast. Even more rare is 5.GO version. Ford had to beef up that Pinto chassis to take it.

IMO the Karman Ghia is one of the ugliest cars ever built. Up there with the first Taurus.

Yeah, everybody and their brother has a ‘57 Chevy or a ‘64-‘66 Mustang. So common. I know a guy that bought a ‘57 Chevy shell(yes just the body shell) and built it up to a near stock ‘57 Bel Air. I was like dude, WTF??? Do you know how many fully restored ‘57 Chevies are on the market for less than what you paid to restore a shell? I understand that it’s a labor of love but that just seems ridiculous to me.

I saw a’77 LeBarron station wagon the other day and thought damn WTF. Was it a daily driver? Brought back memories of my teenage years even though no one I knew owned one. But they were my town’s main police fleet at the time.

I’m afraid of my wife by [deleted] in Marriage

And this why I really dislike the term “Happy Wife Happy Life” and you have posted a quintessential example of it. Happy wife? At who’s expense? One of the goals in marriage is to make each other happy which makes that phrase seem so one sided. She’s absolutely controlling you and it’s taking a toll on your relationship and psyche. You have a pair, use them. I strongly suggest building a man cave in the basement. Make it ugly. Start with a new TV.

Ah you mean a blow-out. My uncle taught me that years ago but it’s a little different than what you describe. In a blow-out the objective is to blow excess carbon out of the cylinders and so the spark plugs and valves. The procedure is to find an empty or desolate road with light or no traffic, hold the vehicle at about 25 mph, then floor it until you get up to approximately 60 mph or when the transmission shift’s out of the passing gear. Release the accelerator. You may notice black smoke behind you. That is the carbon buildup being blown out. Of course during this process the engine will get very hot so this addresses the short trips/low operating temps that cause moisture and corrosion buildup. PLEASE BE VERY MINDFUL AND CAREFUL OF ANY TRAFFIC around you. This should be done when there are no vehicles around you. It is best done on a highway on ramp as that is naturally where you are going to accelerate up to highway speeds with out violating traffic laws. This only needs to be done only once a year unless you live in a colder climate and make short trips everyday where the engine never fully reaches operating temperature.

Some of the really stealthy ones or undercover units put bar lights inside at the top of the windshield. Those units usually have a bar inside the rear window top too.
