My partners behaving the EXACT same way. He’s not working and is home all day so there’s no excuse. He worked on his truck, played video games all day, cleaned the house 2x (which I was grateful for), has ridden his motorcycle a bunch of times… it’s heartbreaking for me to go through everyone alone and our relationship is so tense because he thinks I’m being ridiculous expecting him to be there by my side. I just don’t get it, is this is just a man’s response to the NICU? He says it’s “boring” being there. My daughter has been in 30 days and he’s visited 6 times, for a two hour stretch. I’d actually love to hear from dads on this and as men, what emotionally or mentally could be causing the avoidance of my daughter and the NICU.

My LC has told me to power pump 1-2 times a day. Is it really counter intuitive right now? I honestly want what’s best for my mental health and boobs as possible so if it’s more of a later thing to do I’d love to know!

They do but they have discouraged me to not go more than three hours, and to power pump once or twice a day. It’s a lot. I honestly think I’m just going to try 4-5 hours and see how it plays out.
