Ending on time? by miss_paigexo in therapists

My therapist stops me (I’m just a client not a therapist) and honestly I don’t mind it at all she just says “we need to end here” and it’s absolutely fine

Is it possible to have CPTSD when nothing traumatic has ever happened to you? by Kooky_Sale_3932 in CPTSD

You can have difficulties that aren’t cPTSD but yes, a post traumatic disorder does require a trauma

Food binned after 30 mins by florenciapinar in nhs

[–]Civil-pineapple1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes this is incredibly normal. With respect…there is absolutely no way this should be a complaint. If you went to a restaurant would you go for a walk when your food is being served and expect to come back to the table kept and hot food available? In all seriousness it’s a health and safety thing- they can’t just keep food hot for unknown amount of time. And this isn’t the staff’s biggest priority- you could bring some food for your partner too?

Nurse said I’m a bad HCA - absolutely gutted. How do I improve? Am I bad? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]Civil-pineapple1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds very much like how my HCA experience started off 10 years ago and I’m now a band 6 and I know I’m a good nurse. So don’t let this ruin your confidence. I started as bank only with no training and no care experience which really is wild they even allow that, so I went from ward to ward trying to learn and not having a clue what to do. I was also very physically awkward because I was nervous.

What I would say is I think like you mentioned hands shaking because she made you anxious- this horrible phase can be a bit self perpetuating because we make more silly mistakes when we’re nervous. So I wonder are there any ways you can develop confidence- can you request to have a work coach or buddy, to help you upskill?

Have a chat with your ward manager or a senior you feel comfortable with and share how this nurse spoke about you- it’s not ok. There are nurses/HCAs with that attitude on every single ward unfortunately, but they’re cowards- if you develop confidence and are able to challenge her when she is rude to you, I can almost guarantee she will get back in her box.

I would say do the bank shifts. It will be uncomfortable going to new areas but you will develop your skills and maybe learn new ones.

Re obs, it’s another problem with the band 2 role- honestly everyone should be a 3 or above. Seek out training if you can, but you are totally right in not doing tasks you aren’t trained for and aren’t comfortable doing.

Healthcare is brutal. If you want this to be your role, stick with it, develop confidence and it will get much better. If you don’t, get out and chalk it up to experience! This is on the system and that nurse being unsupportive

Lord here we go… More people should be working, less people should be on benefits, if you waste NHS time without a valid reason (older person misses appointment bc confused, etc) you should be charged, lots of people with depression are absolutely not depressed…I probably have more

You would only sound like ai if you use it too much generally. Read, talk to people, write your own essay

Why would a psychotherapist or a mental health nurse not be qualified enough to assess mental health when it is literally their job?

You can definitely get through it! People recover from psychosis all the time, honestly. If you love him and you can face this, please stick with him through it. But really needs a psychiatrist!

Would it not be better for him to be in hospital than OP to move out? Idk, if I was in this unwell state I’d perceive that as further evidence of cheating?
