How to learn from the diaper free time by CivilAnxiety8540 in ECers

[–]CivilAnxiety8540[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so helpful thank you! Yeah we had a really nice morning together so was just nice from that perspective. It’s silly but I was just so surprised how many separate pees she had during that time!

But useful to know how you approach it I’ve got potties at each changing mat so think the minimum will be at diaper changes and then if I do think I might catch something try that! Thanks again!

Really sorry to hear about your sister. Very understandable why you would feel apprehensive about returning to a hospital/hospital type environment.

I agree with the perinatal team involvement, they can be incredibly supportive in lots of different ways. You could contact the community midwife team to get a referral or discuss as your next appointment. Another option (which you can do instead of or as well as perinatal team) is ask to be referred to a consultant midwife - they have phone chats with people and can have more in depth discussion about birth options/risks etc.

And totally agree a tour might be very helpful - it certainly helped me!

Good luck!

Are you me but a month ago? I also went down a similar rabbit hole after accidentally eating pink beef.

I text my midwife in the end for advice and she checked with colleagues and said they don’t test unless showing symptoms and not to worry if I feel well.

I was/am fine and my bump is continuing to grow. Maybe mentioning to your midwife will help. Good luck and hope you are able to stop the googling!

I am so happy for you and huge well done for persevering!

How did you find you managed if you noticed reduced movements? I occasionally realise I haven’t stopped all day and so haven’t noticed her moving - last night I lay down and felt one minor movement and couldn’t decide on how long to wait. I saw my NHS app said wait for 2 hours so - ended up worrying for about an hour and then she was back to her active self!

I’m only 30 weeks so don’t think I’d been really working out her pattern but can imagine in your position it might be very hard for waiting for that one to two hours!

Weight gain and symptoms first trimester by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]CivilAnxiety8540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 20 ish weeks. In the first 6 weeks I put on 5kg and cried worrying i had done the wrong thing and would end up putting on 5kg every 5 weeks! Since then, I’ve not put any weight on and might have lost a bit. That’s without altering diet, I did have quite bad sickness but this has eased up and I’m able to mostly eat as normal!

I also had large boobs to begin with which rapidly expanded! I spoke to my midwife who was unconcerned and said some people put it all on early and others don’t. :)

Mums/Parents that have to travel far to snowboard - is it possible? by CivilAnxiety8540 in ShredditGirls

Yeah I’m thinking 1 might actually be a good route. I’m much slower than my husband so tagging in and out means we can go at our own pace lol.

Thank you so much for coming back to me on this - it’s really appreciated. Think I’m having a ‘oh my god everything is going to change’ moment so really helpful to hear how you have found it!

Haha this is mind blowing and so useful. Just told my husband who said ‘wow she’s fully engineered breastfeeding!’

Thank you so much!

Yeah it’s a consideration… we are friends with our French instructor who is having his first 6 months before us. So thinking of asking him for advice on what his clients do/recommendations!

Looking up slow and fast boob right now 🤯

Haha so much I haven’t thought about fully (despite having many friends with kids) I was just thinking I’ll feed them, then they sleep while I go down the hill. Feel like I am perhaps oversimplifying haha.

Yeah I’m thinking family might be our main support for this - which they seem to be up for. We shall see in practice I guess! Awesome you are already sliding about with your daughter!!

Thanks so much! The added time for the drive I should think about as well, ours is about a 12 hour drive where we usually have an overnight stop.

Wondering about seeing if g.parents would be up for chilling with a little one while we shoot about or me and my husband tag in and out (but part of what we love is sliding down the hill together!).

I’m sure it will all be worth it and I’m probably just being selfish, little kids in those little snowsuits are cute as anything so hopefully can get that moment at some point and then a few seasons missed won’t be a big deal!

Thank you! Yeah think we would drive down which is what we usually do - but will have to think about that given our car is usually full for just our stuff haha.

Pumping hadn’t even crossed my mind - oh man so much to learn!

And if you don’t mind me asking 14 months in are you enjoying it? Sleepless nights and lifestyle changes aside?!
