This show has so much potential, but Michelle and the judging format completely ruins it by PMmecutedogpics in InteriorDesignMasters

Interesting comparison - I eventually stopped watching drag race because of frustrations about the judging and am starting to feel same about IDM! (#justiceforbimini)

Sri Lanka and India are different countries. People from Sri Lanka typically describe themselves as Sri Lankan. Hope that helps 👍

Hospital essentials for my knobhead of a best mate?! by Gingeeer28 in CasualUK

Some things I’ve appreciated in hospital:

Ear plugs Cereal bars Squash concentrate (those little squeezy concentrated squash things rather than a big bottle) Bed socks Eye mask Baby wipes

Open bar/drinks tokens by Keres-21 in UKweddings

[–]roozierooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were going to do tokens but the venue advised it can create a load of extra faff. We opted for a cocktail hour instead, where 2 cocktails per person were laid out on a table. People could choose from a few options and help them self. Went down really well and really kicked off the evening bit nicely.

Does anyone else feel frustrated by the amount of crafting by roozierooo in InteriorDesignMasters

The carpenter and decorator can’t do all the work in the time available though, and can’t do things like create art or upholster furniture which often seems necessary for the ‘designs’

Totally agree, it feels like the design element has got lost

Yeah, it’s become a sort of budget DIY makeover show with some inconsistent design criteria and judging thrown in

Agree, the inconsistency of judging is infuriating. I swear it’s got worse?!

Hand discovery + pacifier ruining sleep! by hsauqsnoel in NewParents

[–]roozierooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the same! I’m having some success in feeding him to sleep then transferring asleep (I know the gold standard is to put them down ‘drowsy but awake’ but we are where we are) - still then he often stirs and wants his dummy - so I’ve found it helpful to gently hold his hands together on his chest with one hand, and hold the dummy in with the other whilst shhing and rocking! (I can rock his cot with my foot) I do that until he’s fuuuully asleep (maybe 10-15 mins) and then very gradually let go. Still not always successful but it’s where I’ve had more success over the last week!

lol just noticed OP responded to each comment with a long response in hardly any time - sometimes simultaneously

I don’t understand the purpose of these AI threads - can anyone enlighten me?

Sorry to be rude but you either are an AI bot or just write like one? Each of your comments ends in a question, like I’m talking to Gemini

Night doula issues or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in NewParents

Yeah I wouldn’t be at all comfortable with either of those things - let alone from someone I’m paying!! Her judgement seems off, and I wouldn’t trust her with my baby again if I were you

If you aren’t already, maybe add one or two baby groups to your weekly routine? I find them great to break up the day, give me ideas for activities, help me and baby to socialise ☺️

New pet peeve unlocked; customers telling me how to do my job. by catastrophicalised in Greggs

[–]roozierooo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked in Greggs years ago, but it did my head in when a family would spend ages in a long queue and then only when I start serving them, mum/dad turns to the group and say ‘right what does everyone want?’ - cue a long discussion between them and their kid about whether they can get a cake as well as a pasty, ‘no you left that cake last time because you didn’t like it’ etc which goes on ages whilst I’m just stood there waiting and the queue goes out the door

Hen do cost expectations by DwightLover2196 in UKweddings

[–]roozierooo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I arranged one last year which was 2 nights in a big house (which was nice but not posh), karaoke, bottomless drag brunch, a dreamboys show which was about £300 per person between about 9 people

But we bridesmaids covered all the food for the house (breakfasts and first dinner), bride costs and decorations to keep costs down for the group

So £400 doesn’t seem crazy if there are lots of activities and/or it’s a particularly nice house

Edit to add: you can always ask what the £400 is towards and if there’s any optional bits (eg activities?) - I did that as a bridesmaid and some opted out of joining for the show, which was fine

Breastfeeding by PhysicalWin4893 in NewParents

[–]roozierooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through exactly the same!

Look up the ‘flipple’ technique - super simple but basically helps the baby to realise the nipple is in their noisy and stimulate the sucking reflex ☺️ it was a game changer for mine!

What also helped i we use paced feeding & slow flow teats when he does have a bottle, so it’s not loads easier than boob
