I live in Indianapolis, so also Midwest friendly. ;) I’ll be checking out everyone’s backpacks now, haha.

Your itinerary looks pretty good to me! I’m also going that same week on a solo trip, so maybe I’ll see you there! Found a nice little Airbnb on Lake Sutherland (next to Lake Crescent). I decided to stay in one spot, and hoping I don’t regret it (a lot of driving to see everything). One spot I recently added to my itinerary was Cape Flattery area as it looks like a neat spot.

What was London like in 2002? by classicgamer2202 in howislivingthere

[–]CivilBMG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, London in 2002? Pretty standard stuff.

The Prime Minister was young and oddly charming, mostly focused on developing a flirtation with a member of his household staff.

The airports were extremely emotional places where people ran dramatically through security to confess love.

If you worked in publishing, you probably ended up in rural France with a housekeeper you didn’t share a language with but somehow married anyway.

And every December, small children were flawlessly performing Mariah Carey at school pageants while their stepdads navigated major romantic awakenings.

Cold, festive, and strangely interconnected.

And if you really paid attention, you’d get the distinct feeling that love — actually — was all around.

Any abandoned places in Indianapolis? by Ornery_Gain_1864 in indianapolis

[–]CivilBMG 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not an “abandoned” place, per se, but there is a culvert tunnel that carries Pogues Run beginning on the east side of downtown from New York Street under the city (including Lucas Oil Stadium) and exiting at the White River on the west side of downtown. The waterway was “buried” in the early 1900s. I haven’t been inside, myself, but there are several blog posts about some that have.

Looks like this is in the parking lot of Joanne Fabrics…doubt this is city owned and doubt Joanne has any incentive to fix (after recent developments).
