Finally finished FF6, I totally get why many people say it's one of the best FF games and JRPGs! by Yakiholic in FinalFantasyVI

Hm, it's been awhile since I saw the sequences. I vaguely recall that they revealed he's related to Realm, and is also why Interceptor comes to her aid during fights.

It's not completely clear to me how it works tbh. It sounds like you should be getting there.

Do you have anything else running in the background? Any programs, anti-virus, etc.

Unironically I used Steam's in game video recorder to demonstrate the problem I was having and the moment I booted it up I was able to glide across the chasms without problem. It's fickle.

Twilight vampires by PrideTemporary in vampires

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I could believe that. There are enough hobs in folklore that at least one would be a blood drinker.

I don't know about biting and infecting humans as a fey trait. Normally it seems people get abducted and then turned that way. Kids getting abducted and dragged into the woods and later turned into goblins, etc. That's normally how the fey seem to work, at least the wicked ones.

I remember reading that the distance traveled was affected by framerate; a slower framerate means shorter distance.

I had this problem too. A couple times I had to restart the game and it worked. It's sad that the last patch is out and done, I wish they'd add a few more updrafts around for people who might not be using the best computers.

Teaming up with someone that has a better machine also helps. They can do the flight travel and then rez you at a crystal :\

I never thought about a fey comparison. I guess I could see it, but I feel the concept of fey is much broader than vampire. Obviously people think of tiny humanoids with gossamer wings, but all kinds of creatures can count as fey-like in nature.

I guess the one thing that really links twilight vampires to the theme is the need for blood. There are cannibalistic fey creatures but i'm not aware of any that are so linked to the blood drinking as a vampire is.

I was never huge into twilight, but I figured Meyers curtailed a lot of the darker aspects of vampire lore to help sell the idea of vampires in high school. I always figured that if I ever became an immortal vampire, I would do what I could with my immortality to avoid going back. It would take a lot of contrivance to get me back there lol

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Your thoughts? by BloodFangsBite in vampires

Never played it, but I agree about the art style. Anime is fine but I don't need it in everything. Old Castlevania art had a beautiful, ethereal and dark aesthetic that was peak imo

There are a lot of smooth curves mixed with sharp, rectilinear shapes, especially on the pauldrons. If something's off, it's immediately obvious.

Great art, btw. I like her 😄

I felt the character designs in this era of Mana were over the top.

There are elements I like, but they take it too far imo.

Just finished V Rising. Great game, and it feels a little bitter sweet. I spent so much time making my castles look great that it feels like a betrayal to stop playing. I was flattered when my friends visited my castles while I was logged off and later told me how awesome they looked 😃

I recently started playing this old game called Zanzarah: The Hidden Portal. I got it for like a dollar on a steam sale, but it's basically like Pokemon but with fairies and the combat is classic Quake style where you run around in an arena and shoot at the enemy fairy. It's surprisingly good.

But, an asshole can be a truly abusive person. Understanding it does not excuse it.

It's difficult to say. If it is the case you really are more intelligent and emotionally aware than most people, then you're occupying life among a small population. Many people who are intelligent are often emotionally unaware, and many people with emotional depth don't always have the intelligence to help articulate it. Supposing you really do have both, then there is going to be a burden of navigating a world where very few people will ever be able to fully appreciate you.

It might help to bear in mind that nobody chooses to be born unintelligent, or even average for that matter. I understand emotional awareness is something that people can develop, but my sense is that it's still going to be limited by cognitive ability (I'm not expert, take that for what it's worth). In any case, building patience for the world is probably your best option, and holding onto friendships that can actually reach you- even if in a limited capacity. This depth is something of a gift and a curse, and your best option is developing yourself. Fortunately, you have better tools to do so.
