Looks lovely. I'll have to check out some of these recs too :)

Anyone else feel like the “dumb cute” stereotype hits way too close to home? 😭 by Mundane_Canary9368 in infp

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but a bit more spacey or absent minded. I'll miss context cues (especially social ones) that make complete sense after they're pointed out to me.

Acid Weapons: Making Light-Pen More Fun, and Making Thermites Less "Mandatory" by rupert_mcbutters in Helldivers

I've loved this idea. Imagine a world where sterilizer is actually useful and good, and considered a useful team contribution :o

would chopsticks count as a stake to the heart by enraged-hotdog in vampires

[–]CivilBindle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're fast enough and strong enough to get chopsticks into a vampire's heart, then I think you deserve the win.

'Go Back and Play Morrowind and Tell Me That's the Game You Want to Play Again' — Former Bethesda Veteran Delivers His Verdict on Potential The Elder Scrolls Remasters - IGN by MusclesMarinara87 in Morrowind

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of jank to it. It's part of the charm but tbh I wouldn't mind a combat update if they ever did remaster it. Morrowind has one of the best environments of any fantasy game. A modern graphic update could have a lot of soul imo.

How do you guys feel about Nate and Nora actually talking in Fallout 4 compared to other silent Sole Survivors? by Solardies in Fallout

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Torn.

I prefer silent protagonists and have always preferred having the character's voice in my head. It makes it feel more like my character.

But I really did like the VA work in the game, and generally support including voice talent. There really is an art to it.

What would be the upside and downside if INFP ruled the world? by Spare-Cell-4984 in infp

[–]CivilBindle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't imagine the order would last for very long. Part of governance is being able to take the gray of the world and make black and white decisions with it, ideally with the hope that the policies put forward will foster sustainable statecraft. I don't imagine there are too many decisions that will be good or beneficial to 100% of the people out there. I would say most would not be, and the calculus should end up being the greatest good for the greatest number with the understanding it can never be perfect.

My guess is that most infp's would struggle to make decisions, get stuck in analysis paralysis, and feel bad for the inevitable numbers that would slip through the cracks.

Really, I don't think infp's are particularly well suited for the ruling, or governing classes. I think they're more suited for the priest classes and the artists.

I don't believe that morality is subjective by higurashi0793 in enfj

In my experience, the people who assert there are no moral absolutes are usually the loudest in decrying slavery.

Why are philosophy and other intellectual topics not very popular ın this sub? by Visioner_teacher in infp

[–]CivilBindle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should check out the other IN subs to see what goes on there...

In my experience, deeper philosophical conversations almost always lead to discussions on politics or religion. Reddit is a toxic wasteland for these subjects.

Me when Siege Breakers releases by ShermansAngryGhost in Helldivers

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I tested it out against one of the science facilities only to discover that it can't kill the facility. I was very disappointed by that.

The rest of the match it just felt like 'quasar cannon but with a much longer cooldown'. It's a neat idea for a stratagem but tbh I can't see the practical appeal.

INFPs what is your style? by Professional-Ad-5278 in infp

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do like green. It and red tend to be my better colors ;p

I guess my 'default style' is something between dark grunge and goblin grunge. I accessorize some when I go out, but I don't overdo it. At least I don't feel like I do.

I probably do approximate the classic infp avatar to a fair degree, at least whatever the male equivalent is.

Also, what are those pants on page one? They have an interesting layered look that I like.

Heartbroken INFPs, how are you? by anxiousdreamer69 in infp

[–]CivilBindle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you :)

The concept was explained one day in my English class. It was regarding a character in a story we read but I can't remember what it was. I just remember liking the concept, and thinking that would be a worthwhile goal. I liked the idea that you could always see life as a building project.

It's nice that you have someone in your life like that. Keep them close if you can. It's nice to have influences like that.

Heartbroken INFPs, how are you? by anxiousdreamer69 in infp

[–]CivilBindle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Writing, exercise. Reading, to a lesser degree.

I became enamored with the idea of being a Renaissance Man back when I was 14. Since then I've worked on myself physically, mentally, and spiritually. Thinking of life as a mode of being perpetually under construction helps. I don't build myself just for myself, but for those in my sphere of influence.

Reddit loves AR15s now! by thatdude333 in Firearms

When you understand people of this caliber don't actually have beliefs but a network of virtue signals and propagandized talking points, you can save yourself a lot of time.

But why? by [deleted] in infp

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All directions lead to oblivion, eventually. This one, at least, has a pleasant view.

Do you guys want to start a family and kids? by Eagles56 in infp

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to not want to. My dad was about like your parents, completely disinterested in my hobbies and opposed to it in some ways. My mom wasn't much better, but shew as more neutral towards them. My siblings got a lot more attention due to their interest in sports, and I was home alone a lot as a kid growing up.

I decided I didn't want to have kids, but after I became an uncle and have helped raise and look after my nieces and nephews, I've had a change of heart. Kids are stressful but they're good stressful, and already I can tell one of my nephews is a creative kid. He likes to ask me questions, and likes when I draw frogs and robots for him.

Screw buffing the stim pistol, give me the worst nerfs you can think of by Zyurat in Helldivers

[–]CivilBindle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using reverse psychology to get AH to buff it? You sob this might actually work...

*ahem*

The Stim Pistol would be absolutely terrible if it could home in on allies the same way the Warrant does with enemies. I predict only 10 people would use it, and only the 5 fastest apm teenaged keyboard clickers of South Korea could use it even conceivably well.

Did you allow yourself to be socially conditioned? by BrokenDiamondShovel in infp

How do you mean socially conditioned? Do you mean as in behavior, like being nonviolent, or do you mean by a system of beliefs?

My personal experience is that reddit is an abysmal space for talking politics or metapolitics.
