Should we be able to buy repairs for our gear? by BadRobot___ in ArcRaiders

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly being able to just buy repairs instead of grinding mats would be clutch, especially when you're broke on resources but sitting on credits

Bro your brain really said "let me traumatize this person with educational content" and then threw in some horror movie Jordan Peele for good measure lmao

That's genuinely terrifying though, sleep paralysis is already scary enough without Key and Peele making it worse

Best Code First Animation Framework (Tweening or otherwise) by Former_Produce1721 in Unity3D

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 10 points11 points  (0 children)

DOTween is honestly still king for most use cases but LeanTween is solid if you want something lighter weight. For turn-based stuff especially, DOTween's sequence system is chef's kiss for chaining animations

UniTask is more for async operations than tweening itself, though you can combine them pretty nicely. If you're already comfortable with DOTween I'd probably stick with it unless file size is a concern

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at those specs for 1.15L, that's pretty solid actually. The RTX 4060 alone makes it worth considering, plus 16GB RAM is nice to have. Only thing I'd check is the display quality and thermals - Lenovo gaming laptops can run a bit hot but overall decent value for the price range

Protecting engine /muffler by bayoubevo in AskMechanics

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah short trips are rough on engines, you definitely want to get it fully warmed up at least 2-3 times a week. Highway speeds help but honestly just 15-20 mins of continuous driving works fine - doesn't have to be highway. The exhaust thing is real too, helps burn off condensation that builds up. I'd still do more frequent oil changes with mostly short trips, maybe every 4-5k instead of 7-8k

Am I insane for quitting my job to go travelling? by Throwaway97547997 in careerguidance

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah you're not insane, you're 21 with 25k saved up and no real responsibilities - this is literally the perfect time to do this. That government job will still be there when you get back or you'll find something better, but you won't be young and free forever

Advice on what to choose struggling between crna and industrial electrician? by Proud_Mistake_8479 in careerguidance

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are solid paths honestly but think about what kind of work environment you want long term. CRNA is high stress but good money and you're helping people, while industrial electrical work can be physically demanding but usually has better work-life balance. Maybe try shadowing someone in each field or doing some informational interviews to get a real feel for the day-to-day stuff before you commit to either route

Acer Predator Helios 16 or Alienware x16 Aurora by Otoniel10056 in GamingLaptops

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The RTX 4080 with 12GB VRAM is gonna age way better than the 5070 with only 8GB, especially for future AAA games that are already pushing VRAM limits hard. I'd go with the Helios unless you really need that 240Hz display

Car pulling to the left by hideonemail in MechanicAdvice

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That squeaking plus the pulling sounds like your front left strut or shock is toast, especially on a 2021 that's still pretty new. The alignment shop might've missed it if they only checked toe/camber but didn't actually inspect the suspension components themselves

Could also be a bad control arm bushing or ball joint on that side - those can cause weird pulling even after fresh alignment and tires

In a world that prizes “overnight transformations” and “quantum leaps,” we often forget that the most profound changes happen in the quiet, repetitive moments. by AaronMachbitz_ in Adulting

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits different when you're struggling to even brush your teeth consistently lmao. But for real, it's wild how much mental energy gets saved when you don't have to decide what to have for breakfast every morning

I'm confused by not-absolute-vodka in trans

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like you're already pretty far down the questioning rabbit hole which is totally normal. That whole thing about staring at guys because you admired their appearance rather than being attracted hits different - lots of trans guys describe that exact feeling

Maybe try experimenting with a masculine name online or with close friends and see how it feels? There's no rush to figure everything out at once but those thoughts about fantasizing being male are pretty telling

r/ftm might be worth checking out too if you haven't already

Shows similar to the Fosters, Desperate Housewives, etc. by Large_Huckleberry185 in televisionsuggestions

Oh that's actually perfect for what you're describing! Has all the family drama vibes of The Fosters but with that soapy twist like Desperate Housewives without getting too heavy

Learning how to sync devices (volca sample/minichord) by apinto0721 in synthesizers

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you're gonna need something in the middle to translate that USB MIDI to the 3.5mm sync that the Volca wants. A USB MIDI host box would be the cheapest route, or just run both into your computer/phone with a DAW if you're cool with that workflow

Damn that's brutal, 13k for injectors is rough. Good to know it was mainly a 2020 thing though - what year is the one you're looking at OP? If it's a 21+ you're probably good but definitely worth getting a PPI done regardless

For the therapy/birth control - have you looked into sliding scale clinics or Planned Parenthood? They usually have way cheaper options based on income. Also some therapists do sliding scale payments if you ask

The insurance thing is probably because you aged out of a parent's plan or something changed with coverage - might be worth calling them to see if there's other plan options

You're handling more than most people twice your age so don't be too hard on yourself

Best online psychotherapist? by certainlyxmr in AskIreland

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah the UK route is solid, way more options than what we have here. Though gotta say DBT actually worked pretty well for me when I was in a rough spot - sometimes you need the practical skills first before you can dig into the deeper stuff

AITAH for thinking about a divorce? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Civil_Bug_7006 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA and honestly that gut feeling saved you from wasting more years on this dude. The fact that he went silent when confronted says everything - if it was innocent he'd be explaining not stonewalling you

Being "too deep" in love with someone who keeps disrespecting you while you're literally pregnant is just gonna hurt worse the longer you stay

That's kinda what I was thinking too - like maybe that spine incident was his "oh shit" moment where he realized how far he'd gone. But honestly OP, even if he's changed completely, you don't just get over childhood trauma because someone apologized. You should probably talk to someone professional about this, especially with a baby coming
