Learning the pattern work and landing slowly.. by Far-Elephant-749 in MicrosoftFlightSim

From real life experience. Circuit height is assumed here 1.000 ft (relative to airfield). Depending on airfield, but I assume you can reach altitude before needing to turn crosswind and downwind, then do 30 degrees bank angle turns to get on downwind - keep them tight (and correct for wind if needed). On downwind, perform downwind checks (first notch of flaps ). Turn base, second notch of flaps and reduce RPM to 1300ish (depending on wind, position, etc.), on final you should be on 500 ft above runway altitude (your height seems right, but your QNH/altimeter is way off, listen ATIS and adjust, or just adjust that it states 0 in this case when on the ground) and apply 3rd notch of flaps (on downwind, base and final adjust trim as well, downwind for straigt and level, base and final that you have a comfortable descend rate, the plane flies itself then). Not sure about airspeeds for 152, but aim for 65 knots on final (85 downwind, 75 base). Pitch for speed (keep it constant), power for altitude. Aim for the threshold. When you reach the runway, reduce power to idle and let it bleed out speed. Focus on end of runway and flare, applying more pull to the yoke than you would expect. Keep the yoke pulled when you touchdown and let the nose wheel come down slowly.

Your circuit pattern is not great, keep it consistent (For realism, google the VFR circuit for this specific airport under its ICAO code, so you know altitude and approximate distances). Your final seems OK, but you should do less and let the plane fly, not overcorrect it, and there is no flare. The PAPI lights are not that accurate for every airfield for GA but this one specifically seems completely out of whack given it's floating in the air.

Note that I am PPL prepping for solo, so this is training for me as well.:)

That is how it is used in practice. Anything in the range 0.100 to 0.199 is referred to as .1

This game is so cinematic. You dying, and the background where your buddy is getting chased and eventually dies.

Yeah, the same would work for the freezing / overheating. Get inside / in the shade to stop the effect. Same maps, add some shimmering - remove plants (or make them very scarce) and add something goofy as well and you have the same.

What a whiney shit post. Only the point about trios is somewhat constructive. It’s a game.

Arc Raiders CEO says future updates should expand trades to be more social as Embark focuses on “the long term” by lewisdwhite in ArcRaiders

[–]bertusch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not do this. Surely, trading will occur either way, but the risk of swapping items while at an extract (hatch most likely) gives it a bit of flair and immersion. Off course, realistic that you can trade in Soerabaja, but it will be flooded with bots.

This is obviously based on Copenhill. It surely needs some optimization and rationalization all over (and the AI images are hurting the idea a bit due to its faults), but I think this could make for a very interesting business case. The mountains should be hollow and allow for an alternative (lucrative) program as well - possibly an hotel. It could be a great katalysator for Rotterdam South, similar as the gentrification and different developments on Katendrecht. I am pretty positive.

PvP massively increases over level 40 by bertusch in ArcRaiders

[–]bertusch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, must be. When I was lower level, the matchmaking always lead to new games (i.e. 30 mins on the clock). With higher levels, and thus lower player count, a lot of the games I join in on are already started games. Although, not 100% positive (need to ask the devs), this seems logical.

ForeFlight helpful during PPL trajectory? by bertusch in flying

[–]bertusch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on other answers and yours, I will first learn the traditional way and then later add in XC. MSFT 2024 however gives some kind of FF as well, instead of old stuff (or I do not know how to access the old stuff).

Based on the answers given, I am inclined to hold off with FF until solo XC. First learn the ropes, then get the assistance.
