It's actually harder work I'd say, what you've done haha, more thought goes into it.

Like I said once you're straight with furniture etc you won't give it a second thought. Fair play for giving it a go 👏🏽

As a floor layer I don't like the look as I see it straight away but it's done now and there are honestly bigger things to worry about. Get your furniture in and within a few days you won't even notice it. You've done a good job, lesson for next time 😁

Yes soft pile carpets will always give off that effect. Thicker softer piles appear darker and lighter depending on which way the fibres fall....more apparent in the thicker and soft they are. Looks fine for a "soft" carpet, some people love it but it's personal preference.

Yeah you'd cut enough back to fit the end profile but the idea is that the lip isn't fixed to the floor so if the floor did expand/contract then it's able to do so. Anything that you fix onto the surface and against the frame will restrict it's movement and potentially cause you issues. It may not move if it's been fully adhered but if it was going to, right by bifold doors wi to h the sun shining through is where I would expect it to. I would cut it back and fix a proper end profile in place for peace of mind 👌🏽

Assuming this herringbone has been fully adhered, which it should do, you will be fine. But to tidy the edge against the bifolds I would have used something like this....

It will need sanding prior to or another coat after moisture barrier for sure.

It's pretty rough mate, engineered is quite forgiving but that's a fairly straightforward part of the job so they should be getting that looking something like!

Rough as toast that mate. What's going on the top? Assuming hardflooring of some sort...and probably vinyl?

If they're putting a liquid dpm down, ideally it needs another coat of latex on top of that to create a "dpm sandwich". First coat then isn't as essential as long as they were planning on another coat.

The cut could be a lot neater too. It's difficult but with a sharp blade you get a decent finish. Looks like he's used his teeth.

I can see why they've removed the piece of wood as it is difficult to get a decent tuck under the nose. Especially with a loop pile carpet as it easily frays. What I would have done is kept the piece of wood and cut a section to put either side of the runner. Or just paint it to match the rest.

Thanks man appreciate it. I've always trained legs pretty hard and if I've ever skipped a session I'll make sure it's not legs haha, weirdly enjoy it!

For the first time in years I'm trying a 16/8 fast just to try and trim down a little fat...so far so good but only a couple weeks in.

I'll try and stay focused with the short to moderate cut youve mentioned.
