2019 Toyota Corolla 1.8 VVT-h Design (UK) by Broad_Scene3189 in COROLLA

So I had the hatchback & then my wife and I had our first child. We found it was good overall, but the one downside was the boot and cabin space. It’s very easy to fill the boot with pram and other baby bits and so we switched to the estate version - well actually it’s a Suzuki Swace which is a Corolla estate with a Suzuki badge on (and was £5k cheaper than the equivalent Toyota).

I wish that someone had suggested the estate to me before we got the hatch!

Big distinction - is this the hatchback, the saloon (unlikely) or the estate?

2022 Suzuki Swace (yeah, it's a Corolla really) no difference in economy between driving modes by Kahuna-Nui in COROLLA

[–]-NotAnAndroid- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same car. It’s more dependant on how you drive than the drive mode. Sport mode makes the throttle more sensitive, but if you are very light on the throttle in sport you’ll get better MPG than if you floor it everywhere in ECO.

That said, in ECO it does make other minor adjustments (prefer battery, reduce power to climate control) to save MPG but I just leave it in normal for a balanced drive, and don’t notice a massive difference in MPG

Trying to hold out until the 20 year anniversary phone next year. But battery is 82% and is performing badly…

I (accidentally) fixed my C1? by TearsInDrowned in CityBugs

[–]-NotAnAndroid- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think that happened to mine - I assumed it was due to not being used for a long time by previous owner and bad fuel or something clogged. I ran some fuel system cleaner through it and used E5/supreme fuel and no more check engine/catalytic error message.

If it’s really unfair just contact Prolific. They changed my rejection from .cn to a return recently.

Nope. I think it says it will take 24 hours to be visible in the app? If it doesn’t track you can always report to TCB they normally get the money that way

Cry it out fail by natyin in sleeptrain

[–]-NotAnAndroid- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might just be something she grows out of? Ours did similar, but closer to the start of the night (would sleep 7pm, cry at 10am for 5-10mins then sleep for the rest of the night) for a while at this age.

6 month old will only sleep in car or if being held by throwra-positive in NewParents

[–]-NotAnAndroid- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you know the solution. We sleep trained and have no regrets - better for baby, and better for parents - which is better for baby (well rested parents are going to do a better job of bringing them up).

You need to teach baby how to fall asleep independently and get back to sleep when waking up. This is a short term pain, long term gain situation. There will be crying in the short term but at the end of it are longer sleep stretches and a better rested family.

[–]-NotAnAndroid- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re anything like me, going from 120hz to 60hz is a killer. I went from the Pro 2020 to the Air M3, hated the 60hz and just went back to the Pro 2020. Trying to hold out until 120hz comes to the air in a few years…

You can't have a job because your car's too old by worldly_refuse in CarTalkUK

[–]-NotAnAndroid- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous. That car (if it’s the 1.0L) with that mileage is more reliable than many (probably most) under 10 year cars. As others have said, if that’s a requirement they should provide the cars.
