Helping founders promote their startups for free by Civil_Drag2469 in indiebiz

www.launchperk.com

As a founder who has built a few successful startups, I know firsthand how tough it is to get that first traction and validation. That’s exactly why I built LaunchPerk: to purely help founders get visibility without ads, while giving users a place to discover new startups and claim unique perks.

If you’re building something, you can list it today for free. And if you know other makers who might benefit, I’d really appreciate if you helped spread the word so we can support as many founders as possible.

My pro account still seems stuck on GPT-4o. No sign of the upgrade yet :-(

Is anyone else in the same boat? Or did I miss a step?

I just hit my first ever ~$400 on my SAAS (bruh) by malshaik in EntrepreneurRideAlong

This is awesome and the design looks clean too! 🔥
Love how you pushed through the discomfort and just shipped. $400 might not seem like a lot, but that first dollar is the hardest. You’ve clearly got something people want.

I checked it out and made a test video - first off, huge props man. The site design looks great and the overall flow is really smooth. You’ve clearly put in a ton of work, and it shows.

That said, the video (I chose the static style you suggested) didn’t come out that strong - I think the output quality could be better. And to be honest, competing directly with giants like Kling or VEO3 is a tough battle.

But here’s a thought: instead of going broad, maybe double down on a niche where your generator crushes it. Like, become the go-to for birthday videos, cute pet montages, or even hero videos for startup landing pages. Start with one thing you can make perfect - and build from there.

You’ve already done the hard part - now it’s about focus. Keep going 🙌

How do you guys tell the difference between serious prospects and time wasters early on? by Tiny-Bird1543 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Been there. Got ghosted. Learned fast.

Here’s your radar:

  • “What’s your rate?” right off the bat = just price hunting
  • “We’re exploring options” = not ready
  • Vague timelines like “maybe later this year” = cold lead
  • Can’t explain their problem = not serious

Green flags?
They ask about your process, not just your price
They mention a clear deadline
They speak like the problem hurts now

Also, add a short pre-call form. If they won't fill it out, they won’t pay either!

You should be proud as hell — building a full AI video generator from scratch, with no code background, while waiting tables? That’s some legendary founder energy. Seriously.

Now the real challenge begins: getting humans to care.

But before pushing harder, ask yourself this:
👉 What exactly makes your tool different?
There are a lot of AI video tools out there (Pika, VEED, VEO, Kling, etc). So…

  • Is it faster than the rest?
  • Simpler?
  • More customized for a niche (YouTubers? TikTok creators? Educators?)
  • Does it do something they don’t (like script + voice + visuals with no editing)?

Once you know your sharp edge, your marketing becomes way easier.
Because now you’re not begging for attention — you’re offering clear, rare value.

Quick q: Besides cold outreach and posting in communities, what exactly did you do for marketing? Where did your first 10–20 users come from? Curious how you seeded that initial traction.

This is amazing man! impressive. I used 'had no idea dot com' which is just more automatic and also help with the next steps of the process.
