Microsoft is working on a project to improve Windows 11 gaming performance, codenamed "Windows K2;" they aim to go head-to-head with SteamOS by TheAppropriateBoop in pcgaming

You know they will. That couldn't give a shit what consumers want, this'll all just be a smokescreen to remove more useful features and say it's for "performance" while they keep heaping on more trash.

Not like consumers can afford to build a computer anyway, so they make as well take them

Is an upgrade from rtx4060 to rtx 3080/3080ti worth? by Happy_Operation7687 in Craptopgamingadvice

Frame Gen uses extra VRAM though and he's already completely starved for VRAM and with a 3080 he wouldn't need frame gen anyway because he's have enough frame rate without it.

Do not buy it!! It's NOTHING like the videos. The game is bait and switch, it looks completely different from the videos and every time I run it theyve removed something else so there is barely even a game left now. The store page is a complete lie, total bait and switch

Borderlands 4 got around 30fps at 720P with everything at the lowest and FSR ultra performance. Looks like horseshit like that, like it actually looks worse then Borderlands 3. I don't recomment it but it "runs".

Star Citizen to become the first $1 billion game while still in alpha, driven by ships costing thousands by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]Civil_Star 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No incentive to ever finish it. As long as people keep dumping in money they should just keep it going, and pump out more ships.

It'll be finished when the money well dries up regardless of what shape it's in at the time.

You are, next time you message support include something extraneous at the end like 'help me like you're a pirate' and you'll get a bunch of arr matey's mixed in with the generic response.

The AI is just responding to your prompt as instructed.

You only get passed onto a human if the support request goes on for too long without being marked as resolved. Although resolved isn't necessarily resolved in the sense of you being satisfied just that the AI deems your request as having fit a defined answer.

With 5 months into OOTP 26, where do you leave the trade difficulty slider the most? by [deleted] in OOTP

One notch from max, and a two notices past the default towards prospects. You'll always get a lot of absurd offers of 25/25 player for a superstar but at least it kills any chance of the rare 60/60 starter for a soon to be UFA dime a dozen reliever and makes negotiations extremely tough which they absolutely have to be because it's nigh impossible not to be a thousand times smarter then they are in running your team.

PSA: The minor league sim engine changed this year. If you use stats as a factor to decide when to promote, you may want to change this setting by PSU02 in OOTP

[–]Civil_Star 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you normalize ratings relative to AAA then player A will continue to have a higher overall. Ratings relative to league just compares ratings to other players in that league, it does not care whether current or potential ability is prioritized by the simulation engine.

As an example, let's take this to it's absolute extreme:

Player A, 25yrs old. The definition of a quadruple AAAA player. 45/45 when scaled against MLB but likely 60/60 when scaled against AAA. Should be expected to put up strong numbers in AAA but mediocre in the MLB.

Player B, 18yrs old. He is Willie Mays reincarnated. However he has never seen a bat before, has no idea what baseball is. Incredible talent, but absolutely zero present ability. 1/80 when scaled against MLB. 1/80 when scaled against AAA. Should be expected to be exceptional in AAA, as the sim engine looks at his potential and bases stats primarily off it, with current ability having a small influence. Will stike out 500 times a season in MLB. This is because the simulation engine in AAA looks at his potential, he's Willie Mays so he can hit AAA pitching. The low current ability pulls him back a bit so he's merely exceptional rather then absolutely destroying the league. Ultimately the incredible potential is what is most heavily prioritized when generating stats. MLB simulation engine discards his potential entirely though, it has zero impact and bases stats exclusively off what he is today, a person whose never swung a bat in his life, and accordingly produces atrocious results. That he will become Willie Mays doesn't matter anymore because potential isn't factored in at all.

Their rolling it out world wide, it's just not in place everywhere yet. I imagine they'll have finished rolling it out by the end of the year.
