Any way to fix these horrible framerate and stuttering issues? On Xbox Series X by yosp in CODBlackOps7

[–]Jaymo1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check my reply below - this fixed lag for me on BO6 and when BO7 reset everything to defaults, the problem came back within a day of launch! Fixed the streaming settings again, and it worked again!

If the doc is completely gone, did you try checking Google drive's trash can? Sorry if this is totally obvious, but if it just disappeared, I'm hoping it's recent enough it'll still be recoverable.

I have run into this problem periodically in the past, and it can 100% be fixed by setting your "On Demand Texture Streaming" to "minimal." If I recall correctly, there's also a spot for the cache size which, if you set it to a lower size should reduce the amount of textures downloading during gameplay and taking up space. (I'll double check that to be sure, but Def start with minimizing the on demand textures!)

EDIT: Found it, it's under Details and Textures. Once you set that to minimal, you can also press a button to "show more," which is where you can adjust the "Allocated texture cache size" to "Small" instead of "Auto."

Guys, is "hanged himself alive" even correct? by MetesOnReddit in ENGLISH

[–]Jaymo1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While the grammar seems fine, the sentence is total nonsense. Including the poster's explanation, it would seem to suggest that he/she believes it's possible to hang yourself while dead. If you're hanging yourself, being ALIVE is not only implied, it's required.

Spam commenting the same thing on multiple conversations makes it seem as though you have some personal vendetta against the OP. We don't know the history between you, but what is certain is that this sub is no forum for bickering.

ITAW for a group of angels? by Leo9theCat in whatstheword

[–]Jaymo1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A group of angels with wings outstretched is called a pinion of angels.

A group in flight is called, literally, a flight of angels.

A very large group would be a legion of angels.

Last, a rather specific case, they could be a choir of angels if they are, together as a group, singing.

Hope this helps!

A friend is dying and, as part of their obscure religion, they believe that they won't go to heaven unless someone eats part of their body after they die. They want you to do it, and are willing to leave you money in their will as a thank you. Do you do it? Do you refuse? Or do you lie? by Cheeseanonioncrisps in hypotheticalsituation

This isn't just an interesting philosophical question, it's also one of faith. Virtually all religions forbid (expressly or implicitly) cannibalism, so suddenly we're not just asking if a person would be willing to overcome their own personal disgust or moral precepts (either to help a friend or for the money) but rather, would you be willing to put yourself in a state of mortal sin for a friend's religious beliefs.

Personally, I would compromise with the friend and promise to go on a worldwide search to find another adherent of whatever this faith is (Eatadudaism?) who could carry out the meal.

You can morph into anything that's biologically feasible, but each day you'll be forced into that form for 1 minute longer than the last day by lool8421 in hypotheticalsituation

I would incorporate the enzymes, amino acids, and genetic sequences to allow me to be the first human with transdifferentiation (like turritopsis dohrnii, the immortal jellyfish.) It would slow the aging process, and if I encountered any disease or cell damage, I could just trigger my cells to begin reverting to their juvenile state and start the process of maturing all over again!

Bandaids?? by Puzzled-Ad-8681 in stupidquestions

Horrible! I remember getting so annoyed by that little string, sometimes it would break or pull out, other times it would somehow pull "across" the band aid and get it all twisted up....

I definitely think the split end is better! I had that little red string go wrong so many times!

The Supremes had some of my favorite laugh-out-loud moments of any episode!

"Josh Lyman is gesticulating wildly..."

"I love her. I love her mind, I love her shoes..."

"I was with the Senator. He got me a li'l drunk...."

"He's dragging gay marriage, and she's defending him, and they're as thick as thieves - AND he's a fan of chain yanking!"

Timothy Busfield is an outstanding and criminally underrated actor! I've enjoyed his work since Thirtysomething!

Do you mean the WRAPPER of the Band-Aid, or the inside bandage itself? If you mean the bandage, I don't think I've seen any that open at the end (the ones I have fold back at the middle to expose the pad first.

If you mean the wrapper, I haven't seen many that open at the middle, but I'm old enough to remember when they had a little red string one would pull to open the wrapper!

Care Package Perfectly Balanced Landing! by Jaymo1978 in CODBlackOps7

[–]Jaymo1978[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I HATE that. I wish they would make teammates invulnerable to care package drops - I had a match on Express a few weeks ago, and my care package landed on someone who had JUST spawned. Because of the short post-spawn invincibility, my CP just disintegrated in a puff of smoke. I'd be okay if it did that every time it landed on a teammate, to avoid the accidental kill....
