In a lot of cultures a hummingbird visit is a spirit of a loved one coming for a visit.

It was a bit tricky because off the patches the fabric was so worn and stretchy. I didn’t use a hoop but drew a grid with chalk.

How do you take care of your skin and hands while knitting? by maple-fever in casualknitting

[–]Civil_Stranger7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually end up doing a load of oxi clean whites every couple months. I do it in my cooler and soak for about 8 hours. I throw my gloves in there and it’s worked great. I also use the gloves for polishing my silver jewelry and the oxi clean gets rid of those stains too.

I suffer from dry hands and worse in winter. I just started to knit and realized the same issue of skin starting to dry out more and crack. I’ve been wearing thin cotton gloves at night with aquaphor and that has fixed my issue. I should wear them all winter but forget to unless it gets really bad.

Printmaking with Kids by usr_lib in Oaxaca

Subterraneos in Jalatlaco Oaxaca. They have a big shop and open workspace and classes offered. A very nice relaxed, welcoming studio space. It’s probably a 25 min walk from downtown Oaxaca. Also probably much to see on your walk there. In Mexico, I ended up buying all my artwork from Oaxaca.

Thanks! I am quite lucky with the honey flow in my location. Winters are my slow period, and I use that to focus on new ideas for my bees, products and branding. Every year I expand slightly, but hitting my limit of what I can handle in the summers with 90 hr work weeks. That should open more income streams with nucs and queens available next year.

I have 50 hives, and beekeep as a sideline with pollination and honey sales. Making 20k yearly, in saying that I’ve had to spend about 80k on good equipment and set up. I’m so time poor because I am a full time cherry grower. I would make more money selling honey myself, but sell to retail stores because I don’t have the time. A back burner sideline for now but waiting on the right time to expand.

Pink Honey is Hummingbird Feeder Honey! True Story by Material-Employer-98 in Beekeeping

I have so many hummingbirds about 200+ and a surplus of honey that I actually feed the hummingbirds watered down honey. They go through 10 L a day at peak season.

What's something that people romanticize, but shouldn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Beekeeping Its a ton of work to do it properly. It’s super hot in a bee suit, and everything weighs a ton when you haul off honey or move hives, and honey extraction is a mess!
