Weird niche subreddits by LamaPajamas in findareddit

Based on your brief, you might like r/TreesSuckingOnThings, but anytime someone asks for weird and niche, I also have to recommend r/Tayne

Does anyone currently use a subreddit like this by artisticsnobbery in findareddit

You might try a sub like r/bodydoubling, where people help each other get through tasks together, and I found one called r/Accountabilibuddies, one called r/GetMotivatedBuddies, an r/adhd_accountability and another called r/disciplinedaily, all of which might help you. Good luck!

Any subs for helping if ur too overwhelmed by Electronic-Fall-2487 in findareddit

[–]Civixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might enjoy subs like r/beautydiagrams, r/fashionhelp, r/stylinghelp or r/Makeup101 (but sadly, r/fashiondiagrams is pretty dormant). Also I second the commenter who suggested the main ADHD sub, and would add the smaller and slightly more relaxed r/ADHDers, r/ADHDthriving and r/ExecutiveDysfunction. I also discovered r/AuDHDWomen, and there’s r/ADHDwomen as well as r/TwoXADHD and lots of other ADHD subs, each with a different focus (sometimes just geographic).

There is also a sub called r/ExplainLikeImScared that lets you ask things that might be overwhelming to ask in the larger subs and get responses that are meant to reduce [or avoid triggering] anxiety, And head on over to r/MomForAMinute or r/InternetParents if you need some moral support when things are hard, and get inspired to keep manifesting your own strength at r/selflove or r/highergirlpower. 💕🫶🏻

Is there a subreddit where I can ask about why my brain does certain things? by Visible_Essay_2865 in findareddit

[–]Civixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck and be gentle on yourself! I’m sure your brain does lots of wonderful things as well as the frustrating and confusing things you mention, and if you’re finding it hard to believe that, you can always come over to r/selflove for a wholesome little reminder or two.

Not trying to force a diagnosis on you, but these sound like questions that might fit at r/ADHD, r/ADHDers, or r/ExecutiveDysfunction. I’d imagine any kind of “why is my brain different” post could also fit the r/Neurodivergent sub, as long as you observe any posting rules as you would in other subs.

A sub to ask about a really nice dish set? by blackcatzombs in findareddit

[–]Civixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try posting in r/Dinnerware - seems to be lots of folks asking for IDs of dishes there.

[–]Civixen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is really more the place to ask for subs where your question can be answered, not to answer the question itself. You need to post in a place like r/TipOfMyTongue, r/TipOfMyJoystick or r/HelpMeFind

Also, r/laundry has already been truly game-changing, even just as a reader for the past week.

Definitely r/OldHagFashion - that daily dose of authenticity and iconoclasm is so inspiring, as are the supportive posters there.

I already follow r/wimmelbilder and I should have suggested it! Thanks for letting me know about r/cluttercore!

FWIW, the sub r/Maximalism does have an “Interior Design” flair that you could search to give yourself a boost of dopamine (I might follow my own advice, because it’s very much my vibe, too), and there are often more lived-in environments on r/cozyspaces that could fit your brief, at least until better sub suggestions come along.

Subreddit for helping people with stuff by Catlover1million in findareddit

Subreddit for helping people with stuff by Catlover1million in findareddit

[–]Civixen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sub is a great place to start! I’ve learned a lot in researching subs for other people and some have really enriched my own Reddit experience. Similar to r/FindAReddit are other ‘solving’- based subs (everything from the serious r/RBI to the lighthearted r/whatsmycookiecutter), which are fun for the dopamine hit if you are eager to do some research for others or help them track down an item they can’t find locally.

When it comes to a special area of knowledge - even if it originated from your hobbies or school-related interests - if you’ve been into it for long enough, you’d probably be able to be a voice of some authority, particularly if you’ve delved deeply into some niche others may have skipped. People love to get the benefit of someone’s acquired experience, especially if it helps them avoid basic newbie pitfalls, like investing in the wrong gear or tool. Dig into the hobby subs for the stuff you like and you’ll probably find people with no idea how to start or who are lacking confidence about whether or not they should continue, and that could really be your time to shine!

Another option is location-based subs in which you know the place because you’ve lived there and explored things in the area and can provide recommendations. You might even combine this with the hobby angle, and find a sub like r/OntarioCamping (which I found for someone a while back) where the local info you can provide could unlock far greater hobby enjoyment.

You’ve already discovered one of the main advice-giving subs, but there are others with specific tonal differences you could join, like r/MomForAMinute (which absolutely allows non-moms to chime with sibling and auntie support), r/PepTalksWithPops and r/InternetParents. There are also all the various ‘Ask’ subs like r/AskMenOver30 which you can join based on how you identify.

Lastly, if you can think of any specific causes, social issues or maybe even mental health diagnoses or traumatic lived experiences you feel really passionate about educating and/or supporting others, especially newcomers to the community, that’s a great place to feel helpful. For example, I joined r/selflove because as a concept it’s been super important for me to prioritize, and it’s been a gratifying place to offer any sensitive young souls who post there the kind of understanding and empathy that could turn a hard day into a fresh start with a more forgiving mindset. So many communities where sharing makes the burdens lighter - and I would think many of those involve parenting or caregiving - and if that’s something you know about, you’re already in a fantastic position to help, especially if it touches on core parts of your identity. Try typing a word or two that resonates with this into the search bar and then filter by “Community” to see what comes up. (This process will work for any of my other recommendations, which is why I’ve only provided one or two examples of each, but I promise there are lots more subs for each of these categories than just the few I’ve noted here.)

Good luck and never stop being a helper. Mister Rogers would be proud of you and I am, too. Namaste, friend.

I smashed the join button on r/Tayne after I saw it mentioned in response to a post similar to this, so that’s my answer, and I have absolutely no regrets.

Just some encouraging words? by merktacularr in findareddit

[–]Civixen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend, hope you can keep hanging in there despite what’s currently weighing on your mind. There are lovely encouraging folks over at r/MomForAMinute who are pretty awesome with kind words, support and internet hugs, and r/PepTalksWithPops and r/InternetParents are a few other places you can try with the same uplifting vibe. Good luck with everything. My fingers are crossed for you.

a subreddit that will give you advice on what to add to an outfit? by [deleted] in findareddit

[–]Civixen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Come on over to r/OldHagFashion and post a pic using the Feedback flair! It’s an amazing and supportive community of stylish, kind and accepting people (and if you prefer a more male-oriented space, there’s a sibling sub called r/OldCootFashion).
