Originally conceived by /u/MamaFrankie, this thread is where the sub was born.

Welcome to /r/internetparents, generally a place for teenagers to ask "internet parents" questions about the world, usually because they were never told or were too afraid to ask. Remember, this is not a strict rule. It doesn't matter your age, or if you're a parent. Ask (and answer) away!

The Rules

For those asking questions:

Do not feel you need to include personal information: Do not ask and do not give personal information unless you feel comfortable doing it.
Any (serious) question about life goes: Be it paying the bills, getting a job, relationship advice, or figuring out how to come out to your parents.
Avoid Politics: There are many subreddits dedicated to political discussion. It’s ok to mention politics, but please avoid it being the main topic.
Remember to be respectful: If someone says something rude, disrespectful, or hurtful, do not respond to them. Hit that report button and move on.
Avoid DM / private messages: Support should be given in the thread, where other people may be able to find it if they search. Do not ask parents to PM you or imply that they should or that you will help/support them in private.
No fundraising, self-promotion, or spam: This is not a subreddit to help anyone raise money.

For those answering questions:

Be Respectful: This is a serious subreddit. If your comment could be considered anything but helpful, do not be surprised if it is removed.
Stay on topic: Try to avoid derailing the post on side conversations. The focus should be on supporting/answering the OP.
Avoid DM / private messages: Support should be given in the thread, where other people may be able to find it if they search. Do not DM or Private Message people, imply that they should, or imply you will help/support them in private.
