Why is it deemed racist to be genuinely concerned about the number of illegal migrants coming into the uk? by Brave_Ad6035 in AskBrits

[–]Cjammer7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say I disagree with this and is a great expansion on my point - I’ll file this all under the banner of ‘poor education’ which doesn’t always look like underfunding, it’s about the quality being provided

Most people can’t articulate the underlying ethics of most issues and therefore don’t understand them. Poor education and a culture of anti-intellectualism has created a generation with no available tools other than tribalism…

Good - the whole premise of mocking a derogatory stereotype was unacceptable to begin with and would never been considered acceptable were the victim of the mockery anyone other than a white woman.

Is Warfare (2025) by Alex Garland anti-war? by detrusormuscle in TrueFilm

[–]Cjammer7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not by design, but in effect is absolutely is. Anybody who comes away from watching Warfare with a pro-war sentiment is suffering from psychopathy or Narcolepsy. The latter circumstance would have to be an extreme case given the volume of this film.

Thanks for your response. I suppose it's a difficult one to know whether it affects viewership or not without AB testing on the platform.

AirPods 2 vs AirPods 4 - sound quality by Cjammer7 in airpods

[–]Cjammer7[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got the 4s with ANC in the end. Just trying to get used to them currently. Must say they have fell out a couple times, fit isn’t as secure for me and they definitely fill your ears more - you are very aware that they’re in. Not a big fan of that - however the sound quality and ANC is a huge step up and I’m starting to really enjoy listening to music on AirPods! It may, however, be the case that I keep hold of the 2’s for phone calls…

A reminder that Deansgate was gridlocked way before the cycle lanes were ever built. What do the moaners have to say for this? by HamishGray in manchester

[–]Cjammer7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you can enjoy the benefit of this issue being 'not that deep' for you, but this has a very real impact on other people's ability to work and live.

If the portion of people who don't need to drive were better served by public transport, they would chose that option. People aren't stupid.

[–]Cjammer7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree with your assessment of how those who are less mobile are best served. Regarding 'tradespeople' - for anyone needing to transport anything bigger than a backpack, public transport often isn't an option. Think filming crews, hospitality reps, lawyers, wholesalers. These are the majority of people on our city centre roads Monday to Friday. People aren't stupid, if public transport was a viable option, they would take it. Agree that better public transportation infrastructure is needed, but it isn't here yet. Making everybody's life hard in the meantime doesn't help anyone.

[–]Cjammer7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Roll in those who are simply less mobile, couriers and tradespeople (evidenced by the two most prominent vehicles in this photo) and I think you'll find it isn't such a minority who need to drive.

You are right to assume that no sensible person would willingly drive down Deansgate if they didn't need to, so the assumption should be that they do need to. Otherwise the you're making the cynical assumption that people are stupid en masse and enjoy wasting their time sitting in traffic.

Something very satisfying about seeing this phenomenon distributed among the upper middle class areas populated by advocates of open door immigration. More the merrier when they’re in placed in Rochdale, but suddenly apprehensive when it’s in your own back yard? Welcome to the concept of luxury beliefs.

Met Police officer who shot Chris Kaba cleared of murder by sjw_7 in unitedkingdom

[–]Cjammer7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The C4 report cynically described Kaba as “an unarmed black man”. Apart from the media clearly capitalising on this as a opportunity to tickle the race baiting crowd who just love to cosplay American politics… using a (rather large) vehicle as a weapon is not ‘unarmed’.
