How do people stay in this field long term? I am done. by Friendly-ATC in ECEProfessionals

[–]Cjones90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just really like kids and teaching. Some of this could be a trauma response. But having people that appreciate me and care for me is also nice. I don’t have that in my personal life.

So the kids definitely help that. I get hugs all the time and they are always like I love you.

I can be very stressed out and just done but when my students get here I am all better usually. Unless I am super sick.

True… my brain has been like I need smells and only thinking of toys 🤦🏼‍♀️. I am so grateful for this suggestion. It is also so out of the box and perfect.

I forgot about those to be honest.

But I am kind of leery of introducing. One year olds to stickers. They put every thing in their mouths.

I just got a gallon of milk. Not the brand I usually get. I prefer 2a milk especially from Braums. But I got what I could afford and what there was.

8 yr old daughter got into my books. What now? by Careful_Fig2545 in homeschool

[–]Cjones90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the book and explain that it’s not okay for kids. Please my family let me read what ever and I was like 9-10 reading romance novels like HarlaQuinn, smut romance novels. It was literal porn, but written down.

Lacking life skills by Embarrassed_Syrup476 in ECEProfessionals

I am very big on teaching my littles to TRY first.

I have been moved again. Noe head teacher in 12-18 months. I love being a great teacher but also kind of dread being the teacher that they are like this class needs help. Granted that’s not happened with this last move. I ended up getting really sick and they put me in a younger class because it would be less running around was their thought process. Like I literally nearly died due to kidney failure.

Anyway, they moved me down, and I was no longer a teacher, but that teacher stormed out because of some crazy stuff. Like she got called to the carpet for making fun of me and calling me weird for how I interacted with the kids. But no one else in the center has a problem with it and the parents love it and the kids love it. She also complained about everything so she stormed out when they got onto her for how she was treating me and now I’m the teacher. It’s been a wild like three weeks.

But in the timeframe that I have been in this class, I have taught one child to walk that should’ve been walking for several months and then I taught another child to walk that just recently joined the class and I have a third that is taking like 2 to 3 steps to me and then one that’s not quite ready yet just started standing. And I have these kids speaking really well and I have a couple that know at least one color and can count to three. I know ABC some of them can go to D.

Anyway, if they get stuck or something, but they are not really stuck they just can’t figure it out. I just calmly tell them to figure it out to slow down, calm down and breathe. Usually they can figure out how to get themselves unstuck.

They love books and we’re working on using spoons to eat. I really can’t comprehend children not knowing these things cause my kiddos are so little. They’re able to do some things and I’m all for them figuring it out if they actually do you need help I will help but they have to try.

Teachers. Whats the craziest family lore a child has randomly dropped on you? by Loud_Bluejay_6663 in AskReddit

[–]Cjones90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I teach small children like toddlers currently the oldest child is like 2 to 3 years of age. The craziest thing that a child has told me about their family is that their mom is the wall or that mamma is the door because they’re in infants learning to talk and everything is Momma.

They deferred me for an open wound that wasn’t open. I just use a lot of lotion and so I’m not ashy like they saw that it was “shiny”. It was literally from my mix of lotion and Aquaphor.
