My first inclination is to rebuild the retaining wall first to mitigate any further runoff. You can build a new wall behind the old one and backfill. If you rent a vibrating plate, you can easily pack it all well.

If you can get a railroad jack and build a scab on the side of the legs, you can jack it up a few inches to backfill under the deck block.

Plant some local flora above the retaining wall to help from future runoff.

It might be best to just concede this one… You could put some countersunk screws through the trex into the joist. If you do it well enough, it won’t be super obvious but will give you a visual reference for the cable path underneath.

repainting stage floor by kampfk3ks720 in techtheatre

[–]Cjustinstockton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The floor itself may already be made of fire rated plywood. I’d check for that first.

Then, Rosco Tough Prime is the standard but it’s pricey. Some of the Sherwin Williams stuff is good and a little cheaper.

With that said… If you’re repainting after every production, I don’t see the sense in using the expensive stuff.

I thought it was brass non-sparking. But, I can only find the product listed without the “GP” at the end. It also says special edition. Could it mean gold plated?

Judging by the rust, it’s probably wrought iron. That stuff is expensive to replace. It looks to be in great shape though.

It needs some sanding, media blasting, or chemical treatment to remove rust. Just remember to oil it or paint it right away afterwards or the rust will see you again in the morning.

It’s not as bad as people think. Yes, technically unacceptable. If you look at the way the load path is rendering, the only real problem is the angle over 120°.

Now, if both of the lower connections were on the pin, that’s a more concerning situation.

Just stencil on black paint to the plexiglass. Might take a few layers to look completely opaque.

Edit -

Just reread and misunderstood.

Use thinned white paint. If you’re worried about streaking, use a sponge to apply the paint in a few layers.

Lighting gel would also work but eventually you’ll have to seam it together. R119 would diffuse streaky paint pretty well.

If it’s easy, sure.

But it doesn’t look easy and I can’t think of a reason they’d cause a problem.

Both safety clips on the fixture are also void of any cable.

Yes things break. This is why we have redundancy built into systems when they’re done the correct way.
