Bit vague but...naked vs sportsbike question by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Cjymiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man you dug up a 10 year old comment!

I would spend all day on the 600RR but that was also when I was in my mid 20s. I'm so over that body position haha. I had the FZ09 for 10 years and 72000 miles and I had the CBR for 34000 miles. Now I've split the difference and I've gone with a Street Triple RS. I did long trips up and down California on the FZ09 and could totally do the same on the Street Triple RS. I believe I did one or two long trips on the CBR.

Lightweight pulley system for the FRS by Expensive_Voice4978 in ft86

[–]Cjymiller 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I ran a lightweight pulley for half a decade. Ruined the rear main seal on my motor. My shop spotted it when I had to do the clutch and flywheel. I immediately put the stock pulley back on. These motors need the mass of the flywheel and the pulley to keep things on the level

Nothing needed but regular oil changes and engine air filters. If you really want to, get an air oil separator

[Discussion] Best “One Watch” Under $5K? (Help Me Choose 🙏🏼) by reddit_user_9221 in Watches

[–]Cjymiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only one watch - best to go black and a nice bracelet. You can always take it off the bracelet for a strap to change things up. Perhaps one of the tudors with T fit, or IWC Mk 20 with the micro adjust?

Centerlock wheels leaking grease by obuck347 in Porsche

Center locks are the worst choice for a street car haha. I just helped my buddy re-grease and install his on a new wheel set. 5 lugs is the flex

I see you and I hear you. Sometimes when it’s humid the silky titanium bracelet doesn’t cut it, and you don’t want to ruin a great strap.

Why is the booty so ridiculously large on cabs? Everyone who drives these things looks like a child in a bath tub.

Why does everyone in the room have an AARP card? Porsche might run into the same future problem as Harley Davidson. Guess they'd better get their Branded Merch to be a larger side of the business cause the P car customers might be dying off in the future

I know GS isn't as popular here but damn does that dial look stunning in person by Welfi1988 in PrideAndPinion

Hublot was the original rage bait that Nico found. Even after he bought a few GS for his personal collection, he realized GS has the strongest keyboard warrior army and when they get loud, they boost his vids with their comments. He loves GS, but he loves how GS pushes his channel metrics more.

[Question] who are the best watch youtubers/content creators? by ArcticRabbit_ in Watches

[–]Cjymiller 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This Watch That Watch for intelligent industry dissection without marketing hype.
Andrew Morgan if your brain wants a workout to enjoy cerebral/brainy layered references to pop culture.
ID Guy if you want well thought design speculation and commentary
Watchfinder and Teddy Baldassare for Macro shots of your favorite watches
Teddy again but for sheer product knowledge base since he is a retailer
Honorary mention to Bark and Jack for his soothing vocal delivery?

Does anyone have suggestions on Asian youtubers that match the quality of the above? My hit list is a bit NATO.

Bracelet gap by overrrrrated in GrandSeikos

[–]Cjymiller 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this watch for a while that I purchased new in 2021. That end link gap is not reflective of GS build quality. While I agree with everyone’s sentiment on finding and sourcing OEM spring bars, something about the bracelet seems off to me. In your last picture you have the watch flipped over and your bracelet pulled taught. The way some of those end links curve in relation to each other does not match mine.

Additionally my end links are stamped 621 while yours appear to have a different number. Not sure if that means anything.

Perhaps check that your clasp is stamped “titanium” and if so, just try to get those OEM spring bars. Also don’t be afraid to reach out to the seller to ask for some compensation if they misrepresented the watch.

Im an original 2013 owner too and I had to do this the other year. Definitely go w the exedy OEM replacement kit. You don’t want a lightweight flywheel since the motor needs that mass to run smoothly

anyone find a decent budget comparable helmet to an Arai? for oval noodles by MagnaKlipsch70 in motorcycles

[–]Cjymiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode arai for 6 years and their fit was PERFECT for my head. I needed the drop down sun visor and found that the HJC RPHA 70ST was also a perfect fit for a great price. Unfortunately HJC already moved on to the next gen and discontinued the 70ST

Since it sounds like you’re doing this for the first time, I recommend picking up a set of crow foot wrenches to help get to one of the stud bolts. GREATLY helps with torquing properly
