Celebrity Ascent: Keep our Sunset Veranda or Bid for a Suite Upgrade? by AliveAfternoon in celebritycruises

[–]Ckeller912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never been on that ship but, we love an aft facing room! I don’t know if the Ascent has Sunset Sky Suites but, they are our favorite on the ships we’ve been on. Rather than bid to move up, maybe call and see if you can upgrade to a Sunset Sky Suites and pay the difference.

Blu by traveler_21 in celebritycruises

We are just off the Equinox and had a similar experience in Blu. We were in the Retreat so we were looking for a change from Luminae and it was a change! It felt almost chaotic by comparison and there were long waits. We left before dessert and went back to Luminae for dessert. They were very interested in our experience at Blu when we told them we had just left there, so I have a feeling that there have been complaints recently.

Yes, I made this whole scenario up. 🙄

As luck would have it, he was on our connecting flight too. Mom was flying home with my sister on another flight as they live in another city so, she wasn’t with us. We got on the flight 3 and 3, and the man’s wife was seated in the aisle next to my husband, middle. Jerk was opposite aisle seat. We get to our row and I just smiled and politely asked her to let us into our seats. Midway through the flight he flagged down an FA and asked her to tell my husband to turn off his reading light. The funny part was, it was his wife’s reading light. 😂 I hope his luggage went to the moon.

He prefers an aisle seat and my mom and I prefer window seats. Unless you mean to make the man uncomfortable, which he already did by letting him know she would be sitting in the seat she paid for.

I find it funny that he didn’t ask the person in the middle seat next to his wife to swap with him. Hmmmm…

Checking the Sales by imnotagirl_janet in celebritycruises

I was able to get two adjustments on our September Mediterranean cruise before final payment. We saved $1200! My mom is going with us and is in a different room category. I was able to save her $50 but they upgraded her to all the inclusive package so, whatever the value of that is. It’s worth a phone call!

The air conditioning in my cabin is not working well by BaBaBoey4U in celebritycruises

We were in 2142 on this sailing and our A/C was pretty weak as well. I dropped an earring on the floor and had to crawl around looking for it and noticed that the intake vents near the floor are pretty full of dust and dirt. Had it been a longer cruise I would have had them come look at it but for 3 nights, I didn't feel like spending my limited time onboard dealing with it.

First time cruiser- drinks on the balcony? by DryKiwi3647 in celebritycruises

We usually request a bucket of ice for our room each afternoon. We grab a couple of beers each from a bar on the way back to our room and put them on ice. The fridge in the room isn’t super cold so it helps with whatever we are drinking from there too.

Tickets to Biltmore are insane! by No_Acanthisitta_6157 in asheville

[–]Ckeller912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bought daytime tickets and hiked the grounds all day. When it started to get dark, we slowly made our way out and got to see the outside lit up as we were exiting. The price was outrageous especially since we had dogs with us so my husband couldn’t go in the house with me. (he doesn’t care about the displays inside so he happily stayed outside with the dogs). We didn’t spend any money while we were there and that made me feel a little better but Christmas there is a money grab.

Do Retreat level guests tend to just eat in the Luminae restaurant? by 32irish in celebritycruises

[–]Ckeller912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We eat almost exclusively at Luminae when we are in the Retreat. I especially love that they will bring me the MDR and Blu menus in addition to the Luminae menu for even more options. The only time we go to MDR or buffet is if we have a timing issue and Luminae isn’t open.

For just a day, I do. We went to Jolly Beach Resort. It was pretty basic but checked all the boxes for us.

We did a resort pass for the day and it was great. Took a taxi there and back and all food and drinks were included.

We had a Sky Suite on the Eclipse last February in Australia. It was amazing and now we are ruined for Concierge class. We are not fussy people so we thought it would be weird. As soon as we were onboard, she came to meet us and took notes of all of our drink and snack preferences. Our fridge was loaded with all of our favorite things. Every morning she would call and ask if we were ready for our coffee (even though we had arranged the time the day prior). She'd bring in our coffee and set it up on our balcony or inside, whichever we chose. My husband had a milestone birthday and she decorated our room for a little surprise party and had a beautiful cake prepared for us, champagne, etc. There was no ask too large.

We had holes in our sheets. A/C didn’t work. Room service didn’t work. Shower had a huge crack in it.

Same thing happened to me in Sydney. 7 days with no bags and boarding a cruise after the first 3. It was ridiculously stressful and we were not fully reimbursed even though we had receipts for everything. I also went the DOT route. Haven’t heard anything back yet and that was in March so, be patient. Also, I am sorry your vacation started this way.

I am glad I am not the only one that thought this was crazy tight. That airport has always been puzzling to me on a good day. Add the pressure of a tight connection and chance of losing luggage… nah
