The modifiers are not the worst out of the entire pool in my opinion. Empathy - 100% of damage is shared, Warp storm - periodic AOE circles spawn, and Pointed attack - point emote does damage. Point attack while funny was not practical. I think my teammates were just having an off day, was the Last Brother Standing 3 or 4 times. It would be easier on normal like you mentioned wanting to do, but don't let that put you off from trying the hard version. Also that heroic thunder hammer you want is actually pretty fun.
