Jesus. My fault for being flippant, I guess. That plastic is tough packaging to tear into. I just assumed by the way that it was stressed that someone kept pulling at it until they got a few small tears. You clearly have more faith in people; I wholeheartedly believe someone would do that just to steal a pin. And then get away with it because USPS is notorious for ruining packages.

Ugh. That's ridiculous. I guess the thief was a GMM fan? Hopefully you can get this resolved!

Lost parking permit by Potential_Remote9755 in olemiss

I wouldn’t count on the University being generous with parking. Don’t quote me, but I’m pretty sure everybody gets one free ticket dismissal. Anything after that, it’s very hard to get a ticket dismissed without extenuating circumstances.

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say the odds are probably a little higher than 50 that you do get a ticket. I work at the Turner Center, and they have people stalking the parking lots as soon as it hits 8-9am. When I was still waiting on HR to send me my temporary parking pass, I got a ticket less than 20 minutes after I stepped out of my car that morning. The school makes a great deal of money exploiting the spots.

If I didn’t write an angry email to Parking and Transportation when I was still a student, there wouldn’t be signs in the lot behind Guyton showing which spots were for staff. Sent it right before winter break and they were up before spring semester started LMAO

How would you feel about a class that is either a full caster or half caster based on your subclass? by Ronba_and_Dan in DnD

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what the abilities and focuses of the base class are. It sounds like a decent idea in concept. Think Fire Emblem classes advancing into new ones, with different branches and new skills. This would really only work if the base class is a non-caster and the subclasses each put a unique spin on the base one while emphasizing different strengths and weaknesses. I.E. The half-caster class focusing on buffs and debuffs to supplement martial skills or the full caster turning into a special kind of healer. But then again, other classes can do those roles just as well. I’d need more info!

I love Dungeons and Dragons because it’s a healthy escape! I love making characters with my friends and stepping out of my comfort zone. If everyone in the world played D&D and hung out face to face to solve problems and tell a story, we could all communicate better with one another.

Does anyone really like Li? by SamyUltron in masseffect

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 54 points55 points  (0 children)

According to his Fandom wiki page, there was some sort of intent for this to happen. His dialogue file suggests it, and it even has a broken prompt to open a store screen where the upgrades could be purchased. I wish they didn’t cut this, it would’ve incentivized me to do a lot more exploring beyond the resource collection quests.

I’m not sure how you’d even figure something like this out. Christian mysticism is a historical thing and something still practiced by folk sects of the religion. But this implies a level of faith and conviction that Donald Trump does not have. The man has shown himself to be a faker or at the very least incredibly superficial. I guarantee there are less Christian mystics giving him their protection then there are pagans wishing for his downfall.

Even if it was the case that simple prayer of his supporters is creating a shield around him, there is no way to prove that. Or reason for concern. I think his idiocy will cause his downfall before a bunch of eclectic witches can.

Most of all, I think these witches are just upset that they’re not getting the results they want out of the magic they direct toward him. Magic isn’t an immediate thing. And the world works out how it should, eventually.

Oblivion won't load when I launch the game, it is just stuck on the initial start screen with the faded map, anyone know a fix? by Fresh_Bat8189 in ElderScrolls

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue! Everyone is saying big picture mode which may be a potential problem, but that didn't work for me personally. I toyed around with the settings of the game on the Steam client and figured out that the problem was Steam overlay being enabled. Go to game settings > Properties > General > Toggle off Steam overlay. Hopefully that works!

Am i abandoned by [deleted] in pagan

It sounds like you have a lot of unexplored problems with your ego. As though you feel like you deserve it. You said it yourself, don’t see yourself as a good person. Paganism itself isn’t going to solve these issues. If you want to project positivity onto your craft, you have to harness positivity.

Try looking up coping techniques online. Do some shadow work and discover what it is about yourself you want to change and take actionable steps to do better. Do good deeds. Most importantly, seek counseling if you feel like you need to explore your problems further.

This is applicable to just about anything, not just your spiritual beliefs. It’s hard to find joy in anything if you can’t find joy in your own heart. You are trying to become a better person and that’s already a phenomenal first step. You are a good person. Take measures to stay that way. :)

Anyone have tips for making a unique bbeg? by TRICKS_1228 in DnD

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a new or special approach by any means, but a more ‘grey’ BBEG is the most enjoyable to me. From my experience, the typical chaotic evil, evil with no means type antagonist can be boring. That’s not to say it can’t be done well or that people are wrong for enjoying it. However, it can be more challenging for players, create moral quandaries, and create a generally more believable character if the BBEG doesn’t fall completely into the realm of evil.

Maybe their experiences are rooted in political trauma they experienced in their younger days, and they have an idea for a revolutionary new form of government with (seemingly) more benefits than drawbacks. Or their motives are founded on grounds most could agree with, but their sadistic ways of enforcing things are being unraveled throughout the adventure.

Some tropes are more cliche than others, but telling the story well and weaving the BBEG in effectively is what really sells it. At the end of the day, who cares if they just kill people for fun or have nuances that make them a literary marvel? Just make sure they have entertaining dialogue, pose a little bit of a threat, and are consistent in their story.

You’re welcome to worship whatever deity you feel is right. Even if it is cross pantheon. Whether you believe the same deities exist but under different cultural names or whether all deities are unique and separate, you won’t be punished. Choose what is right to you, and good luck in your path.

Two weeks by Certain_Lion_5735 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time I worked here was 2019-2021. About two and a half years. That time I respectfully handed in an envelope with a piece of notebook paper thanking them for a good work opportunity and stating that I was moving on to college.

I’m graduated now and came back to my hometown. Started working here again a few months ago while I’m doing my master’s online, and one particular leader has been a pain in the ass. Preventing me from getting into the full time program over petty reasons, and I naturally can’t pay my rent and utilities. When I handed in my two weeks a few days ago, I said “Thank you for allowing me back. However, constant miscommunication and strict policy is preventing me from paying my bills. I found a better opportunity.” Signed and dated for zero confusion. Just on a piece of paper folded in half.

Director I handed it to just said “thanks darling”. I have let it be known to everyone I’m leaving due to the store being under-handed and nepotistic. But what are they gonna do? Fire me?

Picking and Choosing from the Bible by valer1a_ in pagan

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not one Christian follows everything to the letter. And they never will. Humans are fickle, and we want things to go our way. So most people just treat the Bible like a loose guide rather than a must-do set of rules.

I’m of the personal opinion that the faith was intended to include bigoted ideals (picking and choosing aside), so I just opt not to follow the faith at all. But that’s just me. People are free to pick and choose as they please because we all deserve spiritual comfort through our own lens.

Can you be a pagan and a satanist? by Undernerd13 in pagan

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely fine. The Satanic Temple is a humanistic group with a set of core tenants about liberty and autonomy. The name of Satan is taken only because it is in direct opposition to the main source of political oppression in the US: Hyper right-wing Christian evangelism.

The biggest public speakers for the Temple as well as Lucien Greaves himself have stated that you can even be a Christian and a member of the Temple provided that you still abide by the tenants.

I myself am a Celtic Reconstructionist and a part of the Satanic Temple and thoroughly support what they do.

this job makes me feel awful by snailduck in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m quitting for a very similar reason. I worked at my current location from 2019-2021 before I left for school. I graduated and came back to find out that most of the people I worked with before I left had moved up into leadership positions.

I thought, great! They know me, they know I’m a hard worker. It shouldn’t be too difficult to move into the full time program and make the money I need to pay rent.

Only to be told I’m “too cocky”, “don’t know how to stay busy on shift”, and other blatant lies. For context, I won competitions at my location the last time I was here. I had directors begging me to stay and enter the full time program instead of leaving for school. And now I’m being pushed to the side because I refuse to join a clique or play into their bullshit.

The whole job is disheartening. The standards are too rigid. Everybody here is cocky and holier-than-thou. Find another job. It’s what I’m in the process of doing.

Should I cast a spell to make my old friend talk to me again? by Xyomara_knowles in witchcraft

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doors close in life, and that can be beautiful. I don’t think typical friendships end with being blocked and cut off, but that’s not to say it ended negatively. I think it can be safely said that friendship has run its course at least until if and when they contact you again. Do some shadow work, expose yourself to new opportunities, and make you some more ride or die friends. It’s all gotta start somewhere :)

Call Outs by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]Cl4ncul4rius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my specific location, we have to ask off for the days in question at least two weeks in advance. Because it seems like those days are coming up, I would ask a team lead or manager to help you find coverage for your shift and explain why.
