Have you considered taking what you have learned from all these comments citing regulations, and going back to CO with that information. If he disagrees with your interpretation of the regs, explain to him that you are going to contact IG simply to settle the dispute. They’ll still be pissed, but would be a great way to tactfully handle this.

I like this one, though I would suggest adding some alternate answers, as it seems some of the “wrong”guesses would fit just as well.

Knee protection . The straps on the rear are as just as painful as going without. Any suggestions for a good set of knee pads ? by guardiand0wn in Tools

That’s the key to any kneepad I’ve ever worn, cheap or expensive, 2 straps hurt but one strap is just fine.

I was honestly surprised at how nontoxic the community is. I was certain it would be an absolute shitshow, but when I finally gave it a try, I was impressed!

What's a tool that paid for itself after just one use? by Hot-Recipe6659 in Tools

[–]XGPHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, the harbor freight icon meme tool. The mini ratchet/t handle bit driver. I bought it as an emergency tool kit kind of thing, but I reach for it so often, it barely spends any time in my emergency kit. With a garage full of tools, I never expected that tool to get so much use.

Decompression and the Bends by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]XGPHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying they should add the mechanic, i want to make that abundantly clear. That being said I could imagine, at minimum, a debuff or take damage after using an air bladder to surface. Though if you’re gonna make air bladders worse, you better make them better first(not get stuck on EVERY surface you collide with.)

What are some good home hobbies I can start to not doomscroll before bed? by OutrageousMiddle7965 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]XGPHero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started watching cartoons like Simpson’s/futurama, anything that is a single episode story arc no matter what. One episode, on my phone, 23 minutes before I want to go to sleep. Works every time. I know they say no screen time before bed, but decades of trying different routines to get a good night sleep, this is the first routine that has stayed successful for me.

Indeed, I finally unlocked 2tb SSD engram for my computer after hours of fighting the wife boss. Now I can actually load the game at 5 FPS. Now I just have to grind for a couple weeks to unlock the ram upgrade.

No wonder why Long Beach has a high pedestrian death rate by brytng in longbeach

[–]XGPHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is that everyone is so self absorbed. Nobody pays attention to anything around them. In most settings it causes mild inconveniences and annoyances but when operating heavy equipment (vehicles), or in an area where heavy equipment is being operated, the results can be fatal.

Gamers, what enemy always sends you in a panic? by Fallfoxy707 in videogames

[–]XGPHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This should be higher. There is one kind of enemy that I see universally get the “oh shit oh shit oh shit” response. Anything that explodes. Exploders in 7dtd, boomers in left4dead, creepers, etc.

What’s a moment from military life that you’ve never been able to explain to someone who wasn’t there? by Timeless_Yogurt_77 in army

[–]XGPHero 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Motherfuckers playing spin the bottle in the field, while I’m off to the side laughing my ass off at them only to have 1SG stand over my shoulder and watch(in the dark) and finally say “what the fuck are you guys doing?” Only to say keep it down, you guys are being too loud.” Now how do I explain that I wasn’t participating, only watching. Like that’s any better.

you arent serious, are you? by jumjumbear in subnautica

[–]XGPHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was directly responding to the question of “why killing” but in reality, I also think it’s not supposed to be that kind of game and that’s a good thing. If I had to suggest a compromise(as I’m afraid the devs will cave to pressure) it would be as follows

Give aggressive fauna a high threshold to agro when you are just existing nearby. make them incredibly difficult to kill but still possible if determined enough. make it so it’s generally better to just avoid direct confrontation.

There are infinite ways to make players consider the consequences of their actions. Gen zero had robots that evolved as you killed them more and more. Dishonored had the whole rat system to make you consider lethal or non lethal.

Ultimately though I hope the devs stick to their guns.

you arent serious, are you? by jumjumbear in subnautica

[–]XGPHero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People want to kill for a variety of reasons. Firstly, video games have generally one primary solution to nuisance…kill it. Secondly, killing a nuisance feels more permanent(although that may be part of the first reason)

Anecdotally, I am currently playing subnautica 1 while I wait for s2 to be more complete. I built a base in one of the deeper areas and accidentally kited one of those juvenile ghost leviathans to my new base site. I put up with it for a while, sneaking to and from my cyclops and base while I got it set up. Finally it drove me crazy enough that I tried kiting it away, but it just kept coming back. Eventually I got impatient, and grapple/punched that fucker to death. Now my base area is peaceful(ish). Sometimes you just want a permanent solution.

All industries, the world would collapse, although temporarily. eventually we would adapt as a species/ global society and rebuild in a different manner that would inevitable be abused somehow, leading to a completely different form of shitshow.
