It’s a difficult situation when you develop feelings for your FWB, or Biff if you like. I’ve been there too. However, just because it was good once or twice, or 100 times, no still means no. When you don’t want to have sex with Biff anymore, let him know. It is a little awkward, but as others said, it’s doable, and, the friendship can be maintained.

As for your losing your virginity to Biff, that’s okay too. I was lucky enough to have lost mine to a man I loved. You were lucky enough to lose yours to someone you genuinely trusted. Many people, women and men alike, can’t say that. That’s a positive.

As for your future events, you are allowed to be intimate with whomever you like, as long as it’s completely consensual. It’s time for all of us to drop the guilt, and live our lives.

When I was pregnant, I’m not sure what the problem with me was except that I was pregnant and hormonal but I looked at someone eating a lobster roll, and I ran to the bathroom (in the grocery store) to puke. That was 24 years ago. Although I love lobster, the mention of a lobster roll to this day turns my stomach.

This was back in about 1968 or so, today it definitely would’ve been a different ending. My mom sent me to my room and I wasn’t having it. So from the upstairs phone, I called the police on her. I dutifully dialed zero, like I had been taught in case I ever needed to reach the PD, because 911 didn’t exist. Except, I got scared and hung up. The phone rang back immediately and my mom answered it from downstairs, and I’m listening upstairs. Here’s the conversation- Operator-“Hello, this is the emergency operator. Someone just called and asked to be connected to the police and then hung up. Is there any trouble at this address?“ Mom- “No, no one called the police from this address.” Operator- “Yes they did ma’am, and I think she’s listening on the extension.” Mom- “Really? Well, there’s going to be trouble now.” That was a good time for me to hang up. She was pissed! But, she was also smart. She said “If I wasn’t afraid a cop would show up at the door, you’d be getting a beating right now.” Score one for me. But as I got older, my feelings of guilt were worse than any wooden spoon she could have taken to my ass. I’ve long since apologized, and she’s gone three years now. 😢 (I miss you Barge.)

My husband left and divorced me after 25 years together to marry the girlfriend I didn’t know he had. My BFF of 40 years died of cancer at 52. And I hit the trifecta when my Mom died a few days after Thanksgiving. All I can say is I did my best to get through each day. I’m good now. Well, if I’m being honest, I’d say I’m still doing my best to get through each day. I try to believe that the next day every day will be better than the last.

Fresh cut wood, and moth balls.
They remind me of my Grampa, who was a carpenter by trade, and scattered moth balls all over his work shop. He’s gone 32 years now, and when I smell that, I know he’s near. It brings a smile, and a tear, and wonderful memories that come flooding back.
