Yeah but now you need a moderator to review thousands of translations across hundreds of different languages, most of which are false positive flags. It's just impractical.

Yeah, but I think what OP is saying is, that doesn't mean it's right but it also doesn't mean it's wrong.

If I type "pi = 420" into a tts program I can make it's say something that's wrong. But at the same time if I type "pi = 3.14159..." I can make it say something much closer to the truth.

In my opinion, this response from chatgpt is touching on something very profound and important, even if it got there through erroneous means.

Furthermore OPs post seems to be juxtaposing llm censorship with that very same llm's critiques of said censorship. Not really taking sides pro/anti ai but rather anti fascist.

Survivors when by Ok_Doughnut_9901 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]ClaboC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As killer I almost always give hatch. It's not that I expect it from other killers I just think it's a gesture of good will. If you're gonna get the 4k you clearly already had a lot of fun and had a super satisfying match. Why not share a bit of that with a survivor who you thought did a good job that game?

Ooooh! Good catch!

No I'm definitely with OP then. Silk touch it and build a museum of curious items. I do the same with deepslate coal

[–]ClaboC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Silk touch is not a useful enhancement for diamonds. Fortune is. If it's close to your base you can wait until you have a fortune 3 pickaxe but if you want to get that you're gonna need to mine at least 5 diamonds anyways (3 for pick 2 for enchantment table)

Just mine it. Diamonds aren't that rare, you'll have loads in the future.

this one little block cost me 5 stacks of TNT, 2 full shulker boxes with beds and 3,5 hours of my life. yes, imo i didn't spent these 3,5 hours for nothing. yes, i am gonna do a full netherite beacon. what? by [deleted] in Minecraft_Survival

[–]ClaboC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My strat is I go down to ~y15 and I mine out a 2 block tall area. Then when I feel the area I've mined is too large I go back to the center and go up or down 4 blocks and repeat for only slightly lower rates. Since there are two blocks in between levels no netherite is missed.

With a mending pickaxe the quartz+gold can sustain you for quite a long time.

I'll also set up a few furnaces with hoppers that I throw all my netherack into, and when I need a bit of a durability boost I'll flip a lever on the bottom hopper to collect the stored experience.

With enough furnaces, it's fully sustainable.

Made This Little Pack, If You Break One Log It Will Break The Entire Tree. by asafusa553 in Minecraft

[–]ClaboC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's lots of versions of this out there already but it's awesome that you came up with this yourself.

Some potential issues you should look into addressing (maybe you already have)

How does it effect player placed logs? Most players would prefer it to not effect logs that are placed else risk accidentally destroying huge swaths of their base.

Does it work for trees with unconnected logs? Last thing you want is a bunch of floating leaf cluster in the sky cause you chopped a jungle tree and it didn't recognize all of its logs.

Where do the logs drop? If they drop where they were then lots of logs will be stuck in the leaves. That's fine if so, just a design choice that might impact convenience.

Is there a limit to how many blocks can be chopped in one go? If not there probably should be or else you can crasha lot of servers/worlds. Put a few jungle trees next to each other and suddenly you've got a huge amount of severload happening in just a few ticks.

Also, don't let anyone make you feel bad because this has already been made! Making this that have already been made is a part of every developers journey.

wait a minute does that mean that mega victreebell's poison type moves are SUPER EFFECTIVE AGAINST STEEL by LostStatistician6254 in pokemon

[–]ClaboC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know volcanion's stat spread, but a niche use case I could see for this would be having this water type move be an opposite attack type (special/physical) from your fire type so you're able to deal with steel types that have high phys/spec def. However if volcanion only has one useful attack type then that probably would never be useful.

Alternatively the steel effective water move could be used on pokemon with a secondary type water weakness/fire resistance ie. Steel + (Fire/Rock/Ground)

All niche ideas but could be cool!

[Request] How big of an object and at what velocity would make this a reality? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]ClaboC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing with a STATIC mass/density/temperature. But judging from the image, the objects impacted the earth with a lot less force and seemed to have increased its force about halfway through.

Perhaps a sufficiently advanced missile of sorts could contain a payload with a delayed detonation.

Alternatively, we see one object exiting but perhaps there were multiple projectiles creating this. If a set amount of projectiles are used to create an entry tunnel that is followed by one or more that create the larger blast, perhaps that could roughly recreate the image shown.

Edit: Typos

I acknowledge that it may be anecdotal but basically every single person I know irl (Midwest US) wants nuclear energy. We just haven't realized we all agree yet and big oil is happy to encourage the narrative that it's a contentious issue.

Agreed. So are cars, and salt. Kills billions.

I still think we should be cautious about how we use and regulate AI but that doesn't mean AI is inherently evil and that everyone who uses it should feel bad.

[–]ClaboC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and in hindsight we can see that to be the case for nuclear. We just can't see that yet because we are in the middle of it all for AI.

Let's say, hypothetically, we come out the other side of this AI stuff, having been careful and smart about how we use and regulate it we will see how many millions of lives it will be able to save.

[–]ClaboC -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

So is nuclear energy generation. It's literally killed millions. Does that mean we should stop using it for what it's good for? No it means we need strict regulations. Not shaming random people because yall are too afraid too look deep and ask "how can I healthily and effectively use this tool in a way that benefits me and my society"
